Wisdom Inspired Coaching Call

There is a reason I want you to have this because I want you to be able to stand on this as your assurance of grace, your complete assurance, and then I will go in and explain why. So Hebrews chapter nine, verses 11, through 15. So Christ has now become the high priest over all the good things that have come, he has answered that greater, more perfect Tabernacle in heaven, which was not made by human hands, and is not part of this creative world. With his own blood, not the blood of goats and calves, he entered the Most Holy Place, once for all time, and secured our redemption forever. Under the old system, the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer could cleanse people's bodies from ceremonial impurity. Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our consciousness, from sinful deeds. 

And in the Greek that means dead works. So that we can worship the living God, by the power of the internet, the eternal Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins. That is why he is the one who mediates a new covenant between God and people, so that all who are called, can receive the eternal inheritance, God has promised them, for Christ died to set them free from the penalty of the sins they had committed under that first covenant. So the complete assurance of grace, well, we read and understand this scripture, and I won't try to pull it apart, because I want you to guys to do that on your own time, and get your own revelation. 

But the backdrop for it is for us to be certain in whatever area whatever assignment that we are serving in as a steward, we can be completely assured that grace is available to us, Grace exists, exists, and abides in, on and through us in all things. What we have to know is that when we lack complete assurance of grace, we are insecure. And our insecurity renders us under other types of control, it leaves us vulnerable to being controlled by other forces, our insecurity about our grace, and the existence of grace in on and through us, causes us to like the firm, settled, foundation needed for us to make decisions, choices, actions, and we are following a desire of double-mindedness at that moment. It's similar to having a crack in your foundation. Because what happens is that now, with that crack in our foundation, we are under the control of another force, another influence. And many times it's very subtle because we don't realize it, we think that because we can sit back and say, Well, I'm not sure about that. And I need to think about that a little bit more. And I gotta know, for sure. Is this what God is calling me to do? I know some of y'all gonna be looking inside out at me today. But stay with me, right? Where I'm going is that when we do those things, God demands our obedience. Scriptural Ref. Heb 9:11-15

In today's episode, we explore the topic, Barriers to the Experience of Grace. 

The practical experience of grace in our lives is sometimes very difficult for us to see and apply, and actually follow through with, I believe, it's because we're bombarded with too many messages, from the religious aspects, about what Grace's from the world.

We ourselves, as humans, are a fallen creation. And so we are, we already have enough wars going on spiritually within ourselves. And I believe this is what happens when we're not clear that there is the gift of grace. But there's also a practical application of grace that is constantly being worked out in our lives, not because of us, but through the Holy Spirit at work in us. And I want us to be able to take ownership of that and be assured that this is not a process that we work out by any actions or anything that we do, we receive the gift of grace, right. 

And upon receiving the gift of grace, we have to freely surrender and allow the Holy Spirit to then work out grace in our lives. Our responsibility is to continue to see after truth so that we can be clear and have the revelation needed at whatever stage or phase of grace that we're in so that we cannot just be courageous about the things that we have to do, but completely relying on and trusting and believing in the word for ourselves.

So I want to read 2 Timothy 4:1-5 It says "I solemnly urge you in the presence of God in Christ Jesus, who will someday judge the living and the day when he comes to set up His kingdom. Preach the word of God. Be prepared whether the time is favorable or not patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching. For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after minutes. But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don't be afraid of suffering for the Lord, work at telling others the good news, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you."

So the danger of itchy ears. In the backdrop of this scripture, what I wanted us to get out of this and how it ties to us living in the parameters of grace, understanding, and exposing what that looks like. My goal is to help equip us to be able to make corrections in our lives a lot sooner. It's not about us getting to a place of perfection. 

Because our true dependency comes to us needing to trust God to perfect and work in us through the Holy Spirit, our outer appearances or character that displays it is not to our might, or our power for which this is to work. So itching ears when I looked at in the physical is described as a nervous habit, a fungal infection, or the beginning of an infection. Sometimes with people with allergies, they complain of itchy ears, but it's also sometimes related to some type of skin disease like psoriasis. What I took out of that understanding was three factors, nervous habits, an infection, and a disease. 

When we understand itchy ears from a spiritual standpoint, and what that looks like in our lives, our daily living, we can have nervous tendencies, that causes us to flutter in decisions and our choices in our behaviors and activities, things where we're supposed to be solid and firm. Sometimes we're rather nervous. That nervousness doesn't really show up externally is usually a feeling if you like me, inside of us. There's an unsettled or an uneasiness about something when we should be truly rooted and living within grace, knowing that whatever we face, we have what we need at the moment to address it.

#BeDoHave To have is to be the recipient of something and being is your identity and what you consist of. Focusing on the "having" places us outside of grace.
