Allyne Rosenthal joins me from the Chicago area and shares her story of feeling trapped in a dystopic universe that felt like purgatory. During a 7 year miraculous recovery, Allyne completed a master’s program on nutrition and functional medicine studying how to get well and help other women avoid dementia. She is now the founder of Brighter Mind for Life. 

In this interview we explore how social defeat and invalidation play a significant role in the increased risk women have for dementia and Alzheimers, as well as anxiety and depression. Allyne discloses that social psychological factors have a profound impact on our hormones and our brain and since Allyne has found that no one is raising these issues, she has become passionate about helping women identify those factors and find ways to address them effectively.
