  • Day 366 – Finishing Well – Year 1 is Complete

    Wisdom-Trek / Creating a Legacy
Welcome to Day 366 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me.
This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom
Finishing Well – Year 1 is Complete

Thank you for joining us for our 7 days a week, 7 minutes of wisdom podcast. This is Day 366 of our trek. Today we complete one full year of Wisdom-Trek. Thank you for coming along with me each day of our trek. I really appreciate it.  Today on our trek, let’s explore what it means to finish well.

Before we get started on today’s trek, this will be the last day, at least for a while, that I will remind you that the initial release of our 100 page Your Life Plan Blueprint manual/workbook is available for download at Wisdom-Trek.com on the left-hand sidebar of any page. Or, if you are listening on your smartphone, you can text the word LifePlan (with no spaces) to 44222, and Your Life Plan Blueprint will be delivered to you in an email. The manual/workbook is free during the month of May, so I would encourage you to become one of our early adopters so that all updates will be available to you for free also. By the end of 2016, we will have a complete web/mobile version available of Your Life Plan Blueprint.

We are broadcasting from our studio at The Big House in Marietta, Ohio. With Memorial Day being honored in the United States this week, it provided an extra day of cleaning and preparation work in and around The Big House. I was able to finish cleaning the garage and applying polyurethane to the 2 4-foot gliders. Overall, it was a very productive weekend.

Starting tomorrow, June 1st, the second season of Wisdom-Trek begins, and we are changing up the format. We will be releasing new Wisdom-Trek themed episodes three days a week, which will be Motivation Mondays, Wisdom Wednesdays, and Philosophy Fridays. The episodes may be slightly longer and less scripted than in the past but will still be short enough to consume easily in one session. Making this adjustment will allow us to invest the time needed to release the Wisdom-Trek monthly journals, create the online version of Your Life Plan Blueprint, and roll out our new platform Christian Podcasting Network. We also have additional exciting projects in the planning stages that I will announce later.

For today, it is time to head out on our last day of season 1 of Wisdom-Trek as we reflect on the trail of:

Finishing Well – Year 1 is Complete

There are times in life when we reach reflection points that give us an opportunity to pause, to ponder, and to reflect. As we have now completed the first full year of Wisdom-Trek and as I approach a milestone birthday of 60 this August, I feel that I am reaching one of those reflection points in life. It gives me an opportunity to philosophize a bit. With today’s advancements in health care, life sciences, and nutritional information, it is possible to live well beyond the century mark. I have stated many times, God willing, that I would like to live to 125. If God does permit this, then I am just approaching the half-time of my Super Bowl of life.

As I approach this half-time, I am certainly compelled to finish the first half well, but more importantly, I desire to be prepared to succeed in the second half of life with a far greater impact. I am compelled to build on the legacy that I have started and live a legacy far beyond that in the second half of life.

Although it is important to rest, relax, and reenergize during half-time, what is more important is to review the first half, to strategize, to plan, and then be prepared to execute well in the second half. That is one of the reasons that I have created and will be focusing a significant amount of time building out the online web/mobile version of Your Life Plan Blueprint.  This

is not only so that I can have a solid life plan for my second half of life but to assist as many people as I possibly can to prepare for their entirety of life. It is also why I am choosing to invest much time and energy into building online communities where I can multiply my impact through the lives of others on a much greater scale throughout the world.

I am more excited today about the opportunities that are before me than at any other time of life. With the advancements of technologies already and the advancements that are on the horizons, the opportunities for all of us in this game of life will be nearly limitless. Sure the second half will be difficult. Sure we will have to work hard and play hard. Sure there will be times of defeat and disappointment. Sure there will be times of blood, sweat, and tears. When these times of adversity come, and they will, let us not throw in the towel and give up. Instead, let us take to heart the words the Apostle Paul wrote in his letter to the Galatians in Chapter 6:9, “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”

So, let us seize this opportunity to create and live a legacy that will impact the lives of others for eternity. No possessions gained and no wealth accumulated will last when our game of life is over unless they are resources used positively to have an impact on those individuals who will send a ripple effect through all of eternity.

Regardless of whether you are in your first second half of this game of life, play well. To switch our analogy slightly, let us run the race of life well at all times as was the encouragement to the first century Hebrew Christians in Hebrews 12:1-4, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up.  After all, you have not yet given your lives in your struggle against sin.”

It is my prayer and desire that I play my second half of life well. If God does grant me a very long life and I am permitted to live well beyond the century mark, may I use every single day to impact others and to bring honor and glory to His name. Regardless of how long my second half is, when the clock runs out, may I be able to repeat the words of the Apostle Paul in 2 Timothy 4:7, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful.”

Thank you for coming along with me during this first year of Wisdom-Trek. It has been a blessing and encouragement to me. My hope is that it has been for you also. As we shift slightly in format and style to three days per week, please continue to trek with me as we continue on this marvelous journey called life.

Tomorrow we will begin Wisdom-Trek 2.0 with Wisdom Wednesday as we begin to explore Proverbs chapter 11, so encourage your friends and family to join us. Then come along tomorrow for another day of our Wisdom-Trek, Creating a Legacy.

That will finish our trek for today. As you enjoy your daily dose of wisdom, we ask you to help us grow Wisdom-Trek by sharing with your family and friends through email, Facebook, Twitter, or in person and invite them to come along with us each day. Don’t forget to subscribe to Wisdom-Trek on iTunes, Spreaker, Stitcher, Soundcloud, iHeart Radio, and Google Play, so each day’s trek will be downloaded to you automatically.

Thank you for allowing me to be your guide, mentor, and most of all your friend as I serve you through the Wisdom-Trek podcast and journal each day.

As we take this trek together, let us always:

    1. Live Abundantly (Fully)
    2. Love Unconditionally
    3. Listen Intentionally
    4. Learn Continuously
    5. Lend to others Generously
    6. Lead with Integrity
    7. Leave a Living Legacy Each Day

    9. Day 365 – Life at the Speed of Average

      Wisdom-Trek / Creating a Legacy
Welcome to Day 365 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me.
This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom
Life at the Speed of Average

Thank you for joining us for our 7 days a week, 7 minutes of wisdom podcast. This is Day 365 of our trek. Yesterday and for the next couple of days, we will reflect on completing a full year of daily treks as we approach the end of May. As with life, this past year seemed to zoom by so quickly, and yet we have slowly trekked each day for an entire year. Today on our trek, let’s explore what I mean by the speed of average.

Before we get started on this new trek, I want to remind you that the initial release of our 100 page Your Life Plan Blueprint manual/workbook is available for download at Wisdom-Trek.com on the left-hand sidebar of any page.

We were able to attend church at Putnam Congregational again this morning, and it is always good to worship and fellowship with Christ followers. After church we did our weekly grocery shopping, and then I invested most of the afternoon continuing to clean out the garage. It has been several years since I last cleaned it. It is a detached five-stall open garage fashioned after a turn of the century carriage house, so it is not only large but also prone to attract leaves, dirt, and other debris. Once I finish, it should be in good shape at least until the leaves fall again.

As I mentioned yesterday, we will be making a change in Wisdom-Trek starting June 1st.  We will be releasing new Wisdom-Trek themed episodes three days a week, which will be Motivation Mondays, Wisdom Wednesdays, and Philosophy Fridays. The episodes may be slightly longer than in the past but still short enough to consume easily in one session. Making this adjustment will allow us to invest the time needed to release the Wisdom-Trek monthly journals, create the online version of Your Life Plan Blueprint and roll out our new platform Christian Podcasting Network. We also have additional exciting projects in the planning stages that I will announce later.

For today, it is time to head out on a trek of reflection from this past year of Wisdom-Trek. Today our trail will reflect on what I call:

Life at the Speed of Average

Many people have asked, how do you keep up with a daily podcast along with your other responsibilities? I have to admit, it was not always easy, but I committed to a daily podcast for one year and was compelled to keep that commitment. It takes being consistently persistent in the small things of life to achieve what appears to be great results. You can move a mountain one stone at a time, as long as you are consistently persistent for a long period of time.

I certainly have no extraordinary abilities or talents. I am a fairly average person but have a desire and drive to move one stone at a time from the mountains that stand in front of me. You too can be average and still be a mountain mover. As we move into a modified season two of Wisdom-Trek, let’s look at what can be accomplished even if you feel that you are considered average.

As I wrap up this first year of Wisdom-Trek, I look back and realize although I was an average student that grew up poor on an apple orchard, through being consistently persistent, I will have written over 500,000 words within the daily journals. We are currently working on assembling the daily journals into monthly volumes, and once we include pictures and the daily fillable reflection sheets, each volume will be about 150 pages. Once completed, all 12 volumes will comprise about 1800 total pages. While looking at it from the end of the year, it does look like a huge undertaking, this undertaking was accomplished by writing a few pages each day consistently.

Due to the nature of our consulting work and other projects, I did not have the ability to hide away in a remote location and write, record, edit, and publish the daily podcast and journals in batches, but like our trek of life, I took it one day at a time. It reminds me of a little booklet that I read many years ago called “Little Is Much When God Is In It.” The premise of the book is to be faithful in the small everyday tasks, and you will be able to accomplish much. It’s okay to be average as long as you are faithful and consistently persistent in the small tasks of life.

This concept holds true for all areas of your life. For example, anyone can feel a burst of inspiration, head to the gym, and push themselves really hard for a single workout. That’s maximum speed but will produce little result long-term. Instead, what if you had a slower paced workout, but averaged 4 days per week in the last month? How about the last three months? Or the last year? What has your average speed been? Your long-term results will be much greater if you are consistent over an extended period of time, even if each day did not include an intense workout.

This principle holds true for your work habits, your eating habits, your relationship habits, and virtually every other area of your life. Here’s the surprising thing about average speed…It doesn’t take very long for average speed to produce incredible results.

So often we waste our time and energy thinking that we need a monumental effort to achieve anything significant. We tell ourselves that we need to get amped up on motivation and desire. We think that we need to work harder than everyone else. While I am all for continual improvement, it does not take herculean efforts to see huge results over a long period of time.

While I am all for continual improvement, it does not take herculean efforts to see huge results over a long period of time.Tweet This

The natural question that follows from all of this is, “How do I increase my average speed?” I recently read an article written by blogger James Clear where he wrote “Habit Graduation: How to Increase Your Average Speed.” In other words, graduating from your current habit level to one level higher. Basically, habit graduation is about increasing your average speed.

      Here are some examples…

      • If your average speed is eating three healthy meals per week, can you “graduate” that to one healthy meal per day?
      • If your average speed is exercising once per week, can you “graduate” that to twice per week?
      • If your average speed is to only read spiritual or inspirational materials once per week, can you “graduate” to three times per week?

      • We all have an average speed when it comes to our habits. And, if we’re honest with ourselves, that average speed might be much slower than we’d like.

The truth is, anyone can get motivated and push themselves for one day, but very few people maintain a consistent effort every week without fail.

In your health, your work, and your life, it doesn’t require a massive effort to achieve incredible results — just being consistently persistent over a period of time.

This reminds me of the parable from Matthew 25:20-21, “The servant to whom he had entrusted the five bags of silver came forward with five more and said, ‘Master, you gave me five bags of silver to invest, and I have earned five more.’  The master was full of praise. ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!”

As we wrap up the final two days of a full year of Wisdom-Trek, remember in your life if you are consistently persistent even at an average speed, you can move mountains. Let us work on increasing our average speed gradually at the same time. Tomorrow we will continue our time of reflection as we finish a full year of Wisdom-Trek, so encourage your friends and family to join us.

Thank you for joining us for our 7 days a week, 7 minutes of wisdom podcast. This is Day 364 of our trek, and yesterday we finished a 25-day detailed series called Your Life Plan Blueprint. Today and for the next couple of days, we will reflect on completing a full year of daily treks as we approach the end of May. As I reflect, it is with an abundance of gratitude to you as we have shared this year of treks together.

Before we get started on this new trek, I want to remind you that the initial release of our 100 page Your Life Plan Blueprint manual/workbook, and it is available for download at Wisdom-Trek.com on the left-hand sidebar of any page. Or, if you are listening on your smartphone, you can text the word LifePlan (with no spaces) to 44222, and Your Life Plan Blueprint will be delivered to you in an email. By the end of 2016, we will have a complete web/mobile version available of Your Life Plan Blueprint.

If you would like to listen to any of the past episodes, please go to Wisdom-Trek.com to listen to them and read the daily journal. You can also subscribe to Wisdom-Trek on iTunes, Spreaker, Stitcher, Soundcloud, iHeart Radio, and Google Play, so each day’s trek will be downloaded to you automatically.

We are broadcasting from our studio at The Big House in Marietta, Ohio. Much to our chagrin the deer deterrent stakes were not effective and Friday we discovered that all the blooms on the two rose bushes, and two Impatiens planters were all eaten by the deer. The plants will be fine and survive, and we are thankful that we did not set out all of the plants. We put one more test planter out on Saturday night with moth balls in the planter to see if they are effective. Our day on Saturday of clean up and renovation projects in and around The Big House was very productive, and we made some good progress.

After receiving good feedback from our fellow trekkers and based on the related projects that are planned we will be making a change in Wisdom-Trek starting June 1st. We will be releasing new Wisdom-Trek themed episodes three days a week, which will be Motivation Mondays, Wisdom Wednesdays, and Philosophy Fridays. The episodes may be slightly longer than in the past, but still short enough to consume easily in one session. Making this adjustment starting June 1st will allow us to invest the time needed to release the Wisdom-Trek monthly journals, create the online version of Your Life Plan Blueprint and roll out our new platform Christian Podcasting Network. We also have additional exciting projects in the planning stages that I will announce later.

For today, it is time to head out on a three-day trek of reflection from this past year of Wisdom-Trek. Today our trail will reflect on gratitude and the privilege of serving you through the Wisdom-Trek podcast and journal.

          Gratitude Is Thanks on Steroids

As I reflect on completing a full year of Wisdom-Trek at the end of May, I started thinking about gratitude, past the mere words “Thank you.” Way past. I went to the second definition of gratitude in the dictionary, the one that says, “… readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.”

Being grateful, feeling grateful, and acting grateful are three different things.

Being grateful can just be an intellectual act. For example, I’m grateful for whoever invented traffic lights that keep us safe. I am grateful, really, but quite frankly, I don’t have any feelings about that.

Many people will say gratitude is an emotion. Feeling grateful humbles us and allows us to appreciate something or someone in our lives. For example, especially during this Memorial Day weekend in the United States, I feel grateful for those in the military that paid the ultimate sacrifice to protect our country. I have good, positive feelings about the men and women who died for our freedoms.

Gratitude may have emotion tied to it, but I’ve always thought of it as a choice, which results in an action. Acting grateful is taking the time to let someone know that they’ve made a difference in our lives. It’s showing through our actions that we don’t take special people and things for granted; it’s the act of returning the kindnesses that have been given to us. It is this choice that I must emphatically proclaim the gratitude that I have for you. I appreciate that you have taken your precious time to come along with me on our Wisdom-Trek. Whether you joined me for one day or have faithfully trekked with me for the past 365 days, thank you!

As I reflect on gratitude, let us explore a little deeper into what it means. Gratitude is good for both parties in all kinds of relationships. The continual gratitude I have for Paula and for all that she does for me in our marriage. I choose as often as possible to express my gratitude in both word and my actions. She certainly does the same to me. Our gratitude for each other helps to maintain and strengthen our love for each other…Even after nearly 37 years of marriage, our gratitude for each other grows each day.

Gratitude is especially beneficial in marriages. Researcher Dolores R. Leckey writes that, “Gratitude leads to many other ‘virtues’ like laughter and fun, compassion and mercy.” Sarah Rose Cavanagh, Ph.D., professor of psychology in affective sciences, found a strong correlation between one’s own felt and expressed gratitude and marriage satisfaction. She concludes that, “truly felt gratitude toward a partner may be portrayed in nonverbal cues and in reciprocal actions…both of which could result in higher marriage satisfaction.” I can certainly back up this research in our marriage.

Researchers at U.C. Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center have found many links between gratitude and happiness. It seems that positive emotions about one thing simply make us feel better about everything. But, in order to get the benefits, we have to actively practice generating those positive emotions.

Whether by verbalizing it in thank you notes, keeping a gratitude journal, or letting the people who touch our lives know they’ve made a difference, practicing gratitude benefits everyone involved. The greatest gift you can give to everyone on a daily basis is expressing your gratitude for them.  Choose to be grateful for everything today. As the Apostle Paul wrote in his letter in Thessalonians 5:15-18, “See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other and to all people. Always be joyful.  Never stop praying.  Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”

As we wrap up the final three days of a full year of Wisdom-Trek, once again I want to thank you for coming along with me each day. Let us all learn to choose gratitude and then show it with our words and actions. Tomorrow we will continue to reflect on our time together, so encourage your friends and family to join us. Then come along tomorrow for another day of our Wisdom-Trek, Creating a Legacy.

That will finish our trek for today. As you enjoy your daily dose of wisdom, we ask you to help us grow Wisdom-Trek by sharing with your family and friends through email, Facebook, Twitter, or in person so they can come along with us each day.

Thank you for allowing me to be your guide, mentor, and most of all your friend as I serve you through the Wisdom-Trek podcast and journal each day.

            Wisdom-Trek / Creating a Legacy
Welcome to Day 363 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me.
This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom
Your Life Plan Blueprint – Recap

Thank you for joining us for our 7 days a week, 7 minutes of wisdom podcast. This is Day 363 of our trek, and earlier this month we began a detailed series, which we originally introduced in January, called Your Life Plan Blueprint. We have synthesized the information into a 100 page PDF manual/workbook which contains all forms needed to create and maintain your personal life plan.

This is our initial release of the manual/workbook, and it is available for download at Wisdom-Trek.com on the left-hand sidebar of any page.

Thank you so much for coming along with me as we trek through each page of Your Life Plan Blueprint.

We had a fairly busy work week, including our on-site billing day on Friday with one of our clients. Our focus this weekend will be continuing with the renovation projects in and around The Big House. The renovation and outside work gives me the opportunity to listen to audio books and also some time to think of the changes that we may need to make in our business over the next few months.

As a reminder, we are looking at changing the format of Wisdom-Trek on June 1st.  Please email me at [email protected] or leave a comment at the bottom of today’s journal, and let me know if you would like me to continue Wisdom-Trek on a 7 day, 5 day, or 3 day per week schedule. Also, let me know if you would like any changes to the format of the daily trek. Thank you in advance for your feedback!

It is now time to get started on the 25th and final day of Your Life Plan Blueprint Workbook review. If you missed any of the previous days in this series, they are available at Wisdom-Trek.com. On our trek today, we will provide a short recap of the overall Your Life Plan Blueprint program. We have invested most of the month of May so that we could properly cover each step of creating your life plan. I would encourage you to trek with me through this process and complete the associated forms that are included Your Life Plan Blueprint Workbook.

            Your Life Plan Blueprint: Recap

If you are following along in the manual/workbook, today we will explore a recap of the entire course located on pages 61-63 of Your Life Plan Blueprint.

On our trek today, we completed a recap of the entire Your Life Plan Blueprint course. I hope that you have learned how to create your own life plan during this time. All of the forms needed to complete your own life plan can be found on pages 64-99 in the workbook. If you have not done so already, make sure you download Your Life Plan Blueprint.

I am available at [email protected] if you have any questions or feedback. I can assist you in getting started. Tomorrow we will head back out on the trail as we begin our wrap up the final three days of the 1st year of Wisdom-Trek. As we embark on our 2nd year, we have a lot of exciting and helpful resources that we are creating, so encourage your friends and family to join us. Then come along tomorrow for another day of our Wisdom-Trek, Creating a Legacy.

That will finish our trek for today. As you enjoy your daily dose of wisdom, we ask you to help us grow Wisdom-Trek by sharing with your family and friends through email, Facebook, Twitter, or in person, so they can come along with us each day.

Thank you for allowing me to be your guide, mentor, and most of all your friend as I serve you through the Wisdom-Trek podcast and journal each day.

              Wisdom-Trek / Creating a Legacy
Welcome to Day 362 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me.
This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom
Your Life Plan Blueprint – WESPER Step-6: Review – Continuous Evaluation

Thank you for joining us for our 7 days a week, 7 minutes of wisdom podcast. This is Day 362 of our trek, and earlier this month we began a detailed series, which we originally introduced in January, called Your Life Plan Blueprint. We have synthesized the information into a 100 page PDF manual/workbook which contains all forms needed to create and maintain your personal life plan.

This is our initial release of the manual/workbook, and it is available for download at Wisdom-Trek.com on the left-hand sidebar of any page.

Thank you so much for coming along with me as we trek through each page of Your Life Plan Blueprint.

I was able to get the two 4-foot gliders stained during the past couple of evenings. It certainly took longer than I expected as they have a lot of small slats on them, which were a bit tedious to stain. But, they do look nice. I have two more 2-foot gliders to stain yet, and then at least one coat of polyurethane to apply to all of them. My plan is to have them completed before the start of next week, but since I am staining them on the front porch, we will see if the weather and my schedule cooperates. As I mature and grow wiser, I am changing and realize that as long as I have done the best that I can, I need to take life as it is and rely on God to take care of the rest.

As a reminder, we are looking at changing the format of Wisdom-Trek on June 1st.  Please email me at [email protected] or leave a comment at the bottom of today’s journal to let me know if you would like me to continue Wisdom-Trek on a 7 day, 5 day, or 3 day per week schedule. Also, let me know if you would like any changes to the format of the daily trek. Thank you in advance for your feedback!

It is now time to get started on the 24th day of Your Life Plan Blueprint Workbook. If you missed any of the previous days in this series, they are available at Wisdom-Trek.com. On our trek today, we will complete the 6th and final step of the WESPER framework, which is the review phase. We are taking several days to hike you through each step of creating your life plan. I would encourage you to trek with me through this process and complete the associated forms that are included Your Life Plan Blueprint Workbook.

WESPER Step 6: Review – Continuous Evaluation

If you are following along in the manual/workbook, today we will explore the 6th segment, which is review on page 59-60 of Your Life Plan Blueprint.

On our trek for today, we completed the trail that covers the review phase of the WESPER Framework.  The crucial element of review is the continuous evaluation of Your Life Plan Blueprint.

Tomorrow we will recap this training series with five checkpoints that focus on the overall program. This information is contained on pages 61-63 of Your Life Plan Blueprint manual/workbook. Pages 64-99 are all the forms that may be utilized in creating and maintaining Your Life Plan Blueprint. If you have not done so already, make sure you download Your Life Plan Blueprint, and

encourage your friends and family to join us.

As we take this trek together, let us always:

              1. Live Abundantly (Fully)
              2. Love Unconditionally
              3. Listen Intentionally

Thank you for joining us for our 7 days a week, 7 minutes of wisdom podcast. This is Day 360 of our trek, and earlier this month we began a detailed series, which we originally introduced in January, called Your Life Plan Blueprint. We are broadcasting from our studio at The Big House in Marietta, Ohio. Our hawks continue to gather food for their chicks on a regular basis. The number of larger prey seems to be increasing and there appear to be fewer worms and bugs brought in. This would indicate that the appetites of the young are growing as they do. With this year being the year for the 17-year locust in southeast Ohio, it is providing hawks and other birds with additional food for the year. God’s changes and balance of nature continues to amaze me.

On our trek for today, we started up the trail that covers the review phase of the WESPER Framework. The crucial elements of review are to hold yourself accountable and receive feedback on your progress. Tomorrow we will finish step six as we cover additional information on the review phase of the WESPER Framework.  This information is contained on pages 59-60 of Your Life Plan Blueprint manual/workbook. The day after tomorrow we will wrap up this series with a recap. If you have not done so already, make sure you download Your Life Plan Blueprint, and encourage your friends and family to join us.

We are broadcasting from our studio at The Big House in Marietta, Ohio. The temperatures are going to be a lot warmer this week, and with the rain that we have had, the flowers should flourish. We should be able to get the roses planted and the potted impatiens placed in their appropriate spots. I set out the deer deterrent stakes, so we should know fairly soon if the results are as advertised. In the mornings, I am swapping out my treadmill time to work on the woodwork and floor upstairs as it also provides a decent workout for me. The change up should work well although I do miss my morning runs.

As a reminder, we are looking at changing the format of Wisdom-Trek on June 1st. It is now time to get started on the 22nd day of Your Life Plan Blueprint Workbook. If you missed any of the previous days in this series, they are available at Wisdom-Trek.com. On our trek today, we will finish the 4th step in the WESPER framework, which is the planning phase, and then move on to the 5th step of the WESPER framework which is the execution phase.

We are taking several days to hike you through each step of creating your life plan. I would encourage you to trek with me through this process and complete the associated forms that are included in  Your Life Plan Blueprint Workbook.

WESPER Step 4: Planning – Ensure Congruency with Your Strategy

If you are following along in the manual/workbook today, let’s first explore the third segment of planning on page 53 of Your Life Plan Blueprint.

WESPER Step 5: Execution – Making it Count

Now that we have finished up the Planning Phase of Your Life Plan Blueprint let’s move on up the trail to the Execution phase which is located on page 53-54 of Your Life Plan Blueprint.  Execution is where all of the wisdom, establishing, strategy and planning are put into action.  It is where your boots hit the trail, and you start up the trail towards your destination.

On our trek for today, you learned how important it is that your plans are in line or congruent with your strategy within the planning phase of the WESPER Framework. After that, we explored the 5th phase of the WESPER Framework, which is the execution phase. All of the results are produced in the execution phase, so it is the most important phase of all. But, there will be nothing to accomplish without the other 4 steps.

Tomorrow we will move on to the 6th phase of the WESPER framework which is review. This information is contained on pages 56-58 of Your Life Plan Blueprint manual/workbook.  If you have not done so already, make sure you download Your Life Plan Blueprint, and

encourage your friends and family to join us. Then come along tomorrow for another day of our Wisdom-Trek, Creating a Legacy.

We are broadcasting from our studio at The Big House in Marietta, Ohio. Sunday we worshipped at Putnam Congregational Church where we attended on a regular basis, and I have had the privilege of speaking at many times. It was the first day for their newly hired pastor Peter Bridgwood. His message was very good, and his younger age should be a very positive step in reaching a younger demographic for the church. Sunday afternoon I invested several hours tilling up the flower circle in front of the house, where we intend to plant the newly purchased roses.

On our trek for today, we discovered the tools needed to fit your plan into your schedule within the planning phase of the WESPER Framework. Using these tools will ensure successful planning within Your Life Plan Blueprint.

Tomorrow we will explore the third segment of the planning phase, which is to Ensure Congruency with Your Strategy. Thank you for joining us for our 7 days a week, 7 minutes of wisdom podcast. This is Day 358 of our trek, and earlier this month we began a detailed series, which we originally introduced in January, called Your Life Plan Blueprint. We have synthesized the information into a 100 page PDF manual/workbook which contains all forms needed to create and maintain your personal life plan.

We are broadcasting from our studio at The Big House in Marietta, Ohio. On Saturday after finishing the floor in the parlor and completing some business matters, we started restocking the bookshelves in the library. It is quite challenging determining how best to group the books and which ones take priority. We were successful in completing most of the task but have additional books that will need to be housed in a separate cabinet which will also reside in the library. It will probably be next weekend before we are able to finish that project.

This next week, I will be starting on the woodwork in the upstairs hallway and both staircases. The renovations are coming along, and we are very pleased with the change and progress although it is slow and tedious work.

As a reminder, we are looking at changing the format of Wisdom-Trek on June 1st. Please email me at [email protected] or leave a comment at the bottom of today’s journal and let me know if you would like me to continue Wisdom-Trek on a 7 day, 5 day, or 3 day per week schedule. Also, let me know if you would like any changes to the format of the daily trek. Thank you in advance for your feedback!

It is now time to get started on the 20th day of Your Life Plan Blueprint Workbook. If you missed any of the previous days in this series, they are available at Wisdom-Trek.com. On our trek today, we will begin the 4th step in the WESPER framework, which is the planning phase. We will introduce planning and explore the first of three major segments of the planning process.

We are taking several days to hike you through each step of creating your life plan. I would encourage you to trek with me through this process and complete the associated forms that are included in Your Life Plan Blueprint Workbook.

WESPER Step 4: Planning – Develop Your Plan

If you are following along in the manual/workbook today, let’s explore the first segment of planning on pages 46-48 of Your Life Plan Blueprint.

On our trek for today, we explored the first segment of the planning phase of the WESPER Framework. This included the five steps and the five questions to ensure successful planning within Your Life Plan Blueprint.

Tomorrow we will explore the second segment of the planning phase, which is how to fit you plan into your schedule. We will cover pages 49-52 of Your Life Plan Blueprint manual/workbook.  If you have not done so already, make sure you download Your Life Plan Blueprint, and

encourage your friends and family to join us. Then come along tomorrow for another day of our Wisdom-Trek, Creating a Legacy.

As we take this trek together, let us always:
