  • Day 1754 – Having A Backbone – Daily Wisdom
Welcome to Day 1754 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me.This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to WisdomHaving A Backbone – Daily WisdomWelcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. We are on Day 1754 of our Trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote along with some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. We are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before.
Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. Thanks for coming along on today’s trek as we increase Wisdom and Create a Living Legacy. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs%2016%3A16andversion=NLT (Proverbs 16:16) How much better to get wisdom than gold, and sound judgment than silver! If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:
Today’s quote is from Robert Kiyosaki, and it is A lot of people are afraid to tell the truth, to say no. That’s where toughness comes into play. Toughness is not being a bully. It’s having backbone.
    Having A Backbone
It is ok to be gentle and meek, which is not the same as being weak. It is certainly ok to always tell the truth and when you need to say no to requests or demands. However, when you stand on your principles, focus, and priorities, you may have to say no to what is good so that you can say yes to what is best. Remember that when you choose no, it automatically opens up the possibility of saying yes to something even more incredible. When you have to say no to something that may compromise your ethics and integrity, you are not mean to the other person; you are standing for what you deem the truth and what is best for you. You must make choices based on God’s will for you and what is best for yourself and your family. That is not shunning others or being a bully; you have a backbone and stand up for your principles. Stand strong.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=James+1%3A22-25andversion=NLT (James 1:22-25)
But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.

  • Day 1753 – More Persistence And Effort – Daily Wisdom
Welcome to Day 1753 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me.This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to WisdomMore Persistence And Effort – Daily WisdomWelcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. We are on Day 1753 of our Trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote along with some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek.

Today’s quote is from Elbert Hubbard, and it is A little more persistence, a little more effort, and what seemed hopeless failure may turn to glorious success.
    More Persistence And Effort
There is a fine silk thread between success and failure. Just a little more persistence and effort may exponentially change an outcome and turn what seems to be a hopeless failure into glorious victory. Let me give you an example, although not a perfect analogy of the earnings paid out in the Kentucky Derby for 2021. The first-place winner takes home $1.86 million, the second place is $600,000, the third place is $300,000, and the fourth-place earnings are $150,000. There was only a fraction of a second between all four top-place winners. Just that little more persistence and effort between the first and fourth place winners was a difference of over $1.7 million. So it is with many of our pursuits in life. If we are willing to work just a little harder, be a little more persistent, pour in a little more effort, and it will have an exponential difference in the results of whatever we are pursuing. Don’t quit, don’t give up, keep on keeping on. We are imagers of Christ who have been given incredible talents, abilities, and skills. We need to use them for God’s glory and show others the path to God’s kingdom.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2+Peter+1%3A3-11andversion=NLT (2 Peter 1:3-11)
By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.
In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone.
The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But those who fail to develop in this way are shortsighted or blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their old sins.
So, dear brothers and sisters, work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen. Do these things, and you will never fall away. Then God will give you a grand entrance into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Welcome to Day 1752 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me.This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to WisdomKnowledge That Acts – Daily WisdomWelcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. We are on Day 1752 of our Trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote along with some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. We are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before.
Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:
Today’s quote is from Kahlil Gibran, and it is: A little knowledge that acts is worth infinitely more than much knowledge that is idle.
    Knowledge That Acts
In our current message series at church, we are studying the letter from James, which is closely related to this quote. Our theme for the series is ”Faith is Work in Action.” If we have knowledge that we should act on and do not take action, our knowledge is worthless. We are not to be idle in our lives but use the wisdom and knowledge provided by God to take action towards building His kingdom. God does not expect us just to accumulate knowledge but to assist those who are in need when we can help. However, as Christ-followers and citizens of God’s kingdom, we have responsibilities to use the little knowledge we have and multiply it through our actions. That is true value. Knowledge with no action is idleness, and there is no value in idleness. In the letter of James, he focuses on this concept, except he uses the word faith instead of knowledge. In this situation, they are indeed similar.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=James+2%3A14-20andversion=NLT (James 2:14-20)
What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone? Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do?
So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.
Now someone may argue, “Some people have faith; others have good deeds.” But I say, “How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.”
You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. How foolish! Can’t you see that faith without good deeds is useless?

Today’s quote is from Unknown, and it is: A little girl taking an evening walk with her father looked up at the stars and exclaimed, ‘Oh, Daddy, if the wrong side of heaven is so beautiful, what must the right side be!’
    The Right Side Of Heaven
Do you ever take time to go outside on a starry night where there is no local light source and lay on your back to look at the beauty of the universe? If not, you should do so as soon as possible. It is breathtaking and beyond comprehension. Our minds cannot comprehend the beauty of God’s creation. It is so vast that astronomers have no idea of how large the universe is. Yet in James 1:18, we are told, He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession. Think about this; we are God’s prized possession out of all that He created. That means as God’s created images, his love for us is even greater than the vast universe. If that doesn’t cause us to pause and glorify God, nothing will. We have just seen a glimpse of the magnitude of His creation. If what we can see now is so marvelous, just think what heaven will be like. It will be a wonder to behold.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1+Corinthians+2%3A9andversion=NLT (1 Corinthians 2:9)
That is what the Scriptures mean when they say,
“No eye has seen, no ear has heard,
    and no mind has imagined
    what God has prepared
    for those who love him.
    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ephesians%202%3A10andversion=NLT (Ephesians 2:10)
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:
Today’s quote is from Thomas Watson, and it is: A little faith is faith as a spark of fire is fire.
    How Much Faith Is Enough?
Faith is an exciting concept, and it depends on how comfortable and familiar we are with what we are putting our faith in. For most of us, when we sit down in a chair, we have faith that it will be strong enough to support us. It is because we have experience with and trust in most chairs. The same could be said for so many items we use every day, from beds to vehicles. We also have faith that the food we purchase won’t make us sick or kill us. But, how much faith is enough to handle life daily? I would say, not very much faith is required to live a normal lifestyle without fear. Can we say the same about our faith in God? How much faith is necessary to trust that God will provide for our daily needs, keep us from harm, and guide our future? If we can have faith that a chair will support us, it should not even cross our minds that the creator of the universe, which includes you and me, can direct our lives for His purpose for us. We are as God’s imagers, and as such, we are to project God into the lives of others. If we live fearful lives, what does that indicate of our trust and faith in God? Jesus Christ taught us that we just need a very small amount of faith as citizens of God’s kingdom to move mountains and impact our world.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+17%3A20-21andversion=NLT (Matthew 17:20-21)
“You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.”

If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:
Today’s quote is from Thomas Leonard, and it is: A lifestyle is what you pay for; a life is what pays you.
    A Lifestyle vs A Life
If you work hard and are prudent with what you earn, you can create the lifestyle you wish to live. However, it does take focus, endurance, and wisdom to take advantage of the opportunities you cross on your trek of life. Especially in most free countries, you can create just about any type of lifestyle desired. However, you must ask yourself and your family, are you willing to pay the price necessary to reach your desired lifestyle. I am certainly not referring only to a monetary cost. Every time to choose to say yes to one option, you are automatically saying no to other possibilities. Just make sure your choices are a good investment for you, and the impact on your life with family and friends is worth the cost. Living a rich and satisfying life is much more than obtaining material resources, it includes a rewarding life of relationships that no amount of money can buy. The satisfaction, peace, and relationships you can foster in your life are the payments you will receive from a well-lived life. One aspect of a well-lived life is sharing our resources with others to help improve their lifestyles.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20John%203%3A16%2D18andversion=NLT (1 John 3:16-18)
We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters. If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person?
Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.

Today’s quote is from John Glenn, and it is: A life spent centering only on itself will, in the end, occupy a very, very small universe.
    A Very Small Universe
When we are wrapped up in ourselves and focused only on our needs and desires, our world or our universe will be a tiny one. However, when we expand our horizons, participate in activities that allow us to grow, and push outside our comfort zone, we will become more than we currently are today. Through this growth process, when we assist others and focus on their needs, it will allow us to expand exponentially. The more we develop ourselves and help others grow, the more we will learn and the larger our universe will become. We were not created to be an island unto ourselves but in loving relationships with God and fellow imagers of God. It is then we can fulfill our God-given destiny utilizing all our God-given talents and abilities. So, grow yourself, and help others to grow also.

Today’s quote is from Rita Mae Brown, and it is: A life of reaction is a life of slavery, intellectually and spiritually. One must fight for a life of action, not reaction.
    A Life Of Action
When faced with opportunities, challenges, or difficulties in life, are you proactive or reactive? The answer to this question will largely determine how you live. This choice applies to all areas of your life, physically, intellectually, and spiritually. If you are continually reactive, you become a slave in those areas of life because the dictates and choices of others continuously drive you. Others are calling the shots and making decisions for you.
On the other hand, if you are a proactive person, before you are forced into making a decision based on someone else's agenda, you take the bull by the horns and take the action that is needed to seize the opportunities, face the challenges, and handle the difficulties of life. Being free allows you to live a life with choices, resulting in a rich and satisfying life. To be reactive stems from being fearful, which in most situations is a false fear. When you are proactive, you will make more mistakes in life, but overall you will be much farther ahead long term while maintaining the ability to make choices and be free! Don’t live a life of slavery to your fears. Instead, live a life of freedom knowing that God will give you the wisdom when faced with those exciting and challenging decisions of life, which we all face.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2%20Timothy%201%3A7andversion=NLT (2 Timothy 1:7)
For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

  • Day 1746 – A Life Of Obedience – Daily Wisdom
Welcome to Day 1746 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me.This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to WisdomA Life Of Obedience – Daily WisdomWelcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. We are on Day 1746 of our Trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote along with some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek.
Today’s quote is from Vonette Z. Bright, and it is: A life of obedience is not a life of following a list of do's and don'ts, but it is allowing God to be original in our lives.
    A Life Of Obedience
To some, they picture obedience as the same as following a strict list of rules and regulations—a list of dos and don’ts. That is not obedience but legalism. On the contrary, obedience is when we willingly and joyfully follow the precepts found in God’s Word. We follow them, not because we are forced to, but because we desire to please our creator. God only wants what is best for us, and only God ultimately knows what is best. Therefore, our desire to please God must be stronger than our desire to please ourselves. When we follow His precepts because of our love for Him, we can experience the rich and satisfying life that Jesus desires for us. Therefore, we must guard that obedience does not turn to pride but is driven out of our love for God and others.

Yet we know that a person is made right with God by faith in Jesus Christ, not by obeying the law. And we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be made right with God because of our faith in Christ, not because we have obeyed the law. For no one will ever be made right with God by obeying the law.”

  • Day 1745 – Making Mistakes In Life – Daily Wisdom
Welcome to Day 1745 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me.This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to WisdomMaking Mistakes In Life – Daily WisdomWelcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:
Today’s quote is from George Bernard Shaw, and it is: A life making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing at all.
    Making Mistakes In Life
Few people purposely make mistakes, nor do we enjoy it when we do, but mistakes are inevitable because none of us are perfect, and most are far from it. The alternative to not making mistakes is to do nothing, but that would be the biggest mistake you could make in life. It is more honorable to try and make mistakes than not to try. Mistakes are the stepping stones to learning. Mistakes are part of the dues a person pays to live a rich and satisfying life. Making mistakes is an inherent part of life that we cannot escape from; however, we must be big enough to admit those mistakes, smart enough to benefit from them, strong enough to correct them, and wise enough not to repeat them. We should learn from the mistakes that other people make also. We can never live long enough to make all of the mistakes ourselves. The biggest mistake you can make in your life is the constant fear of making mistakes.

Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”) No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
