  • Day 1684 – Keep On Delivering – Daily Wisdom
Welcome to Day 1684 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me.This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom
Keep On Delivering – Daily WisdomWelcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. We are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. Thanks for coming along on today’s trek as we increase Wisdom and Create a Living Legacy. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs%2016%3A16andversion=NLT (Proverbs 16:16) How much better to get wisdom than gold, and sound judgment than silver! We are on Day 1684 of our Trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote along with some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:
Today’s quote is from Carl Hubbell, and it is: A fellow doesn't last long on what he has done. So he has to keep on delivering.
    Keep On Delivering
We can accomplish outstanding achievements in life, but rarely can we just sit back and not continue to pursue new or additional successes. What we have achieved in the past is soon forgotten, by ourselves and even more so, by others. We shouldn’t be content to rest on past success but continue to compete against ourselves to become all that God intended us to be. We need to utilize our God-given talents and abilities effectively. There are times where you need to take a break and rest for a while, but never be so comfortable that you never start again. We were created as God’s imagers to fulfill his purpose for us within his kingdom. While accomplishment can bring a significant amount of satisfaction to our life, we should work to bring glory to God and not to ourselves. We should pursue assisting others in the attainment of their dream. Let us keep on keeping on…even when you feel like quitting. Otherwise, you and your accomplishments will be soon forgotten.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ecclesiastes+5%3A18-20andversion=NLT (Ecclesiastes 5:18-20)
Even so, I have noticed one thing, at least, that is good. It is good for people to eat, drink, and enjoy their work under the sun during the short life God has given them, and to accept their lot in life. 19 And it is a good thing to receive wealth from God and the good health to enjoy it. To enjoy your work and accept your lot in life—this is indeed a gift from God. 20 God keeps such people so busy enjoying life that they take no time to brood over the past.

  • Day 1683 – A Character of Integrity – Daily Wisdom
Welcome to Day 1683 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me.This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to WisdomA Character of Integrity – Daily WisdomWelcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. We are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. We are on Day 1683 of our Trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote along with some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:
Today’s quote is from Thomas Fuller, and it is: A fault, once denied, is twice committed.
    A Character of Integrity
I believe we all have the propensity to lie or to cover up our faults and inadequacies. We desire to make ourselves look better in front of others. While I certainly understand that desire and tendency, this type of behavior shows a weakness of integrity. Covering up a fault will only make us look even worse when the truth is discovered. It is much better to admit and confess when we have erred. We may have to suffer the embarrassment and possible ridicule now, but that is much less than what we will have to suffer if we engage in covering up, and then it is exposed. A person with character traits that include being honest with themselves will show to others that we have a character of integrity. Don’t let the temptation to look good in the short term cost us our life of strong integrity long term. We all have faults; that is part of being a human. To attempt a cover-up of those faults is shortsighted, foolish, and will result in the fault being committed twice. It is just not worth it.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs%2010%3A9andversion=NLT (Proverbs 10:9)
People with integrity walk safely, but those who follow crooked paths will be exposed.
    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs%2011%3A20andversion=NLT (Proverbs 11:20)
The Lord detests people with crooked hearts, but he delights in those with integrity.
    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs%2020%3A7andversion=NLT (Proverbs 20:7)
The godly walk with integrity; blessed are their children who follow them.

If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:
Today’s quote is from Zig Ziglar, and it is: A fair-weather friend is one who is always there when he needs you.
    A Fair-Weather Friend
While Zig Ziglar is adding humor to what is meant by having a fair-weather friend, as with all comedy, there is undoubtedly an element of truth that makes it even funnier. On a more serious note, how do we identify fair-weather friends who are not dependable when needed. How do we love and encourage those who only come to us when they need something, and they drain our emotional energy. These types of friends are always taking but not replenishing or giving back to others. Should we exclude them from our lives, or should we continue to reach out to them? Cutting our connections with others can be a difficult decision to make. If you allow it, some individuals will suck your life, so there may be certain situations where you need to set some limits. From a secular worldview, it may be ok to cut off another person from our life completely. However, if we look at this situation from a Biblical worldview, we must consider how that will impact a person from an eternal perspective. We also need to consider how we can serve others, even if they do not pay it forward.

In “The Sermon on the Mount,” Jesus teaches us that our vocation is to create a Christian counter-culture. All things considered, we are to err on the side of loving others regardless, as we are taught in Matthew 5:43-48. You have heard the law that says, ‘Love your neighbor’ and hate your enemy. But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike. If you love only those who love you, what reward is there for that? Even corrupt tax collectors do that much. If you are kind only to your friends, how are you different from anyone else? Even pagans do that. But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect.

Today’s quote is from Elbert Hubbard, and it is: A failure is a man who has blundered but is not capable of cashing in on the experience.
    The Experience of Failure
Any person who attempts anything significant will fail in their pursuits somewhere along their journey. The more you attempt, the greater the possibility of failure will be. On a personal note, I have attempted many adventures in life. Some of the enterprises were successful, some of which were not. I probably look successful in the eyes of most people, but my failure to success ratio is probably about the same as anyone. One thing I did differently than some was that I turned my experiences into future success. I attempted to learn from each painful lesson of failure, which there have been many, and use it the next time for my benefit. It is the same with you. You will fail at times, guaranteed, but you need to be willing to take the rich lessons of those failures and use them as a downpayment towards your next adventure. God will give you wisdom, if you are willing to use it. You must work hard and keep on keeping on, especially when you feel like giving up. There are no rewards so rich as the lessons learned and the experience gained from total failure. You will never completely fail unless you give up and not try again.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20Chronicles%2022%3A13andversion=NLT (1 Chronicles 22:13)
For you will be successful if you carefully obey the decrees and regulations that the Lord gave to Israel through Moses. Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid or lose heart!

Today’s quote is from John Lennon, and it is: A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality.
    Dream Together
No one in this world is an island unto themselves. Even those who claim to be self-made required a lot of assistance from others to succeed throughout their entire life. The same applies to our dreams. If we ever hope to turn our dreams into reality, then it will be exponentially easier when others share are dreams. In this way, we can share our success because we would not be successful without others. First, we must recognize that it is only by the grace of God that we have the intellect, drive, and passion, coupled with opportunities to take advantage of those opportunities. Next, we need others who have abilities and strengths that we do not have to assist us where we are lacking. Lastly, we must be willing to make the sacrifices needed to allow our dreams to become a reality. Success will require others to come along with us. Welcome their assistance, and succeed together.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ecclesiastes%204%3A9-12andversion=NLT (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12)
Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone?

Today’s quote is from Denis Waitley, and it is: A dream is your creative vision for your life in the future. You must break out of your current comfort zone and become comfortable with the unfamiliar and the unknown.
    Creative Vision
Dreams are essential both in your sleep at night and for your future vision. Dreams help you to imagine that which may be far off. Dreams are like looking through a telescope to see your final destination in various areas of your life. Like you cannot navigate with a telescope, you need goals and plans that will enable you to have a creative vision of how you will reach your destination. As you proceed towards your final vision during your trek of life, you will run into many obstacles and setbacks on your way. You will experience many unfamiliar and unknown situations which will take you out of your comfort zone into situations you would prefer to avoid. Going through these times will help you to appreciate your waypoints and destination even more. Allow you minds, hearts, and soul to learn and grow during those difficult times. If your vision is solid and creative enough, it will be worth the journey. Make sure you enjoy the journey and not just yearn for the destination. God ultimately knows what we will face in our journey of life, and we can rest in the fact that He will be there with us and guide us.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Jeremiah%2029%3A11andversion=NLT (Jeremiah 29:11)
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

Welcome to Day 1678 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me.This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to WisdomDesired Dreams – Daily WisdomWelcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. We are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:
Today’s quote is from Matt Yates, and it is: A dream is what you desire if anything and everything is possible.
    Desired Dreams
If money and time were not a restriction, what would your dreams be? Would you pay off debt, buy things, upgrade your home, buy a new home, start a business, or invest in the lives of others? None of these are mutually exclusive and could all be part of your dream. The fact is, you can do all of the items on this list with what you have available today. We should not wait for ideal conditions because that will never happen. Create a list of your dreams. Prioritize them to what is practical and feasible for now, or in the short term. Expand your plan to include what steps you need to put in place to achieve your objectives that are not attainable short term. Choose what you are willing to sacrifice now so that you can achieve what you desire the most. Don’t get this list confused. You must sacrifice what you desire now for what you desire most. Otherwise, your long-term, more significant goals will never happen. Yes, you should dream and dream big, but you also have to be willing to wait, persevere, and work hard for those big dreams. You will not be able to accomplish all your dreams overnight, it will take a lifetime of passion, but it will happen with proper discipline and restraint. As with most facets of our lives, it can be narrowed down to the principle of planting and harvesting. Plant well, care for your crops during the growing season, and you will harvest well. The same applies to your dreams.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=James%205%3A7andversion=NLT (James 5:7)
Dear brothers and sisters, be patient as you wait for the Lord’s return. Consider the farmers who patiently wait for the rains in the fall and in the spring. They eagerly look for the valuable harvest to ripen.

If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:
Today’s quote is from Harvey Mackay, and it is: A dream is just a dream. A goal is a dream with a plan and a deadline.
A Dream and a GoalWe all need to dream, but if we don’t take the next steps, then just like a dream while sleeping, it will soon evaporate with the day as our minds become busy with other distractions. The only way to hang onto a dream and then progress towards making a dream come true is to set goals based on that dream and then create a plan with definitive deadlines that we must achieve. The first step is to analyze your dream to determine if it is possible to turn it into reality. Suppose it is, then what goals need to be set for the achievement of that dream. Once the goal is set, then you must create a plan to reach that goal. Next, you must set a deadline for when each part of the plan will be achieved. Otherwise, a dream is just a dream, which will quickly evaporate from your mind.

Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty.

So we are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. We are on Day 1676 of our Trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote along with some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:
Today’s quote is from Colin Powell, and it is: A dream doesn’t become a reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination, and hard work.
    Turning Dreams Into Reality
Most of us are dreamers, and we like the dreams we envision for ourselves. So, naturally, we desire our dreams to come true, but they do become a reality through magic. For dreams to become true, we must be willing to invest what it takes for that to happen. There is no magic or secret formula. I will give you the recipe for turning dreams into reality. It takes equal measurements of sweat, determination, and hard work. Mix these ingredients vigorously for a long time, and it will harden your resolve to achieve that which you dream. There are no easy paths to the success that we desire in any area of life. Hard work is a gift from God, one that we must choose to enjoy because work is from God. Don’t delude yourself into thinking that dreams will magically become a reality. Follow the precepts found in God’s Word.
    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs%2013%3A11andversion=NLT (Proverbs 13:11)
Wealth from get-rich-quick schemes quickly disappears; wealth from hard work grows over time.
    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs%2028%3A19andversion=NLT (Proverbs 28:19)
A hard worker has plenty of food, but a person who chases fantasies ends up in poverty.

  • Day 1675 – Finding Your Purpose – Daily Wisdom
Welcome to Day 1675 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me.This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to WisdomFinding Your Purpose – Daily WisdomWelcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. We are on Day 1675 of our Trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote along with some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:
Today’s quote is from John Maxwell, and it is: A difficult time can be more readily endured if we retain the conviction that our existence holds a purpose — a cause to pursue, a person to love, a goal to achieve.
    Finding Your Purpose
I believe all of us have asked and maybe even continue to ask about our purpose in life. Sometimes life seems somewhat futile, or as King Solomon wrote in https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ecclesiastes+1%3A2andversion=NLT (Ecclesiastes 1:2), “Everything is meaningless,” says the Teacher, “completely meaningless!” If this is our thinking, then yes, life will seem difficult. We can take comfort in knowing that God is in control. Therefore, He has a greater purpose for our lives than we can ever hope or imagine. If we retain that conviction, we will find purpose in causes that we pursue, persons we love, and goals that we strive to achieve. We cannot lose sight that God does have a divine purpose for each person. We are His imagers, and because of that, our primary purpose is to image Him. Our purpose will be manifested through our vocation, our family life, and our recreation. So when you find that life is difficult, or you are struggling with finding your purpose, stay focused on those you love, the causes that are meaningful to you, and the goals you would like to achieve. When you do this, you will also find your purpose.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ephesians%202%3A10andversion=NLT (Ephesians 2:10)
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
