Steven Hatchett is the founder of _OFCOLOR, an organization that amplifies creative artists of color through intimate cultural events in Austin, TX.  Coming from Chicago, a city with a thriving cultural arts community; it didn't long for Steven to use his mastery of networking and collaboration to make _OFCOLOR a growing community with annual events that include arts weekends, fashion shows, and brunch targeted to professionals of color -- a unique challenge in a city where Black and Brown people are leaving. And that's not even his day job!  Steven has spent over 20 years in both nonprofits and higher education.  Driven by the lack of professional mentors in his own education and career path, Steven's on a mission to ensure students of color have the information and preparation they need to succeed in the world of work. At the first and only HBCU in Austin, Steven's work lead to the generation of over $250,000 in donations to support the placement of students in technology roles throughout the city.  In his free time Steven sits on the advisory board at KMFA classical music station to strategize engagement opportunities for diverse communities and their historical connections to the classical genre.  Oh, and he is also an avid photographer... you know, in his other free time.
