Today we want to offer a perspective on indigenous magic, recognizing our perspective as middle class white women, of course. But indigenous magic is at the root of the entire planet and we want to recognize that. We’ll cover lineage, appropriation and respect for cultures and practice.
We are not elders, initiates, culture bearers, or representatives of Indigenous or African-diasporic traditions. We are not here to teach practices, give instruction, or open access to traditions that are not ours to share. This episode is about influence, history, and respect — about naming the Indigenous and diasporic roots that shape much of modern spiritual and magickal culture, and acknowledging how often those roots go unrecognized or erased. Our intention is visibility and gratitude, not permission or participation. These are living traditions, held by living peoples. We offer this conversation in humility, with respect, and with the understanding that listening is a sacred act.
