During his tenure in the early 1970s he became aware of intelligence indicating imminent attacks on Israel by Egypt and Syria prior to the Yom Kippur war in 1973.
He asserts that this critical information was withheld from Israeli authorities and Egypt and Syria attacked Israel on Yom Kippur. More than 2660 Israeli soldiers were killed.
