In our last instalment of the Depp -v- Heard story (part 1) we looked at the beginning of the relationship between the couple followed by her now infamous application for a restraining order which led to the publicity of the alleged domestic violence in their marriage and ended in their attending a libel trial in the UK where Judge Nichol rule, on the balance of probabilities that Depp was mainly at fault in 12 of the 14 incidents between the couple which meant that The Sun Newspaper could rely upon the defence of truth in labelling Depp a wife beater.

The mother of murdered toddler Star Hobson has had her sentence for causing or allowing her daughter's death increased to 12 years.

The jail sentence handed to the mother of murdered toddler Star Hobson was "too low", the attorney general said at the end of 2021 Attorney General Suella Braverman said this was "unduly lenient" and referred the sentence to the Court of Appeal. Ms Braverman MP said: "This is a tragic and extremely upsetting case and my thoughts are with all those who loved Star Hobson Star died in 2020 after months of "neglect, cruelty and injury"

Recently we have seen many cases of deaths caused by the police during or after the arrest of an alleged offender and following the tragic death in May 2020 of George Floyd in the United States

However, his death was not a new phenomenon and neither was it a unique case of a death in the custody of police being caught on camera, but because of social media and the individuals who witnessed the brutality being able to upload the shocking footage from their devices the public was forced to confront this tragedy head on.

here we discuss a case of a death in Police Custody that took place over 20 years before George's in an attempt to draw attention to the case, again like George the victim was a black male and again it was caught on camera, this time the very CCTV cameras in the custody suite put there to protect the prisoners from harm, either self inflicted or otherwise.

What is filicide?

On 19th December of 1983 Kathleen had a busy day at work ahead of her and had arranged to go shopping after work for Christmas presents for the girls. However, that morning Terri  was not feeling well and decided to remain home from school and Kathleen promised to check in on her by telephone during the day. The she left the house for work. At around 2pm that afternoon Terri called her mother at work to tell her that  that her Uncle Dewitt had arrived at the house unannounced. Kathleen asked Terri if she knew why Dewitt was there, Terri said he had come to pick up his carpentry tools. Kathleen was worried that her half- brother may be angry for being replaced and did not like the idea of her daughter having to deal with that, particularly as she was unwell and Dewitt was known to be threatening when sacked, So she asked if her daughter thought Dewitt was mad, but Terri was crying, so Kathleen asked her daughter to call her when Dewitt had left. Bouncer and security guard Savannah Brockhill, 28, was jailed for life at Bradford Crown Court in December 2021 for murdering Star Hobson the daughter of her partner Frankie Smith at her home in Keighley, West Yorkshire in September 2020.

Star's mother Frankie Smith, 20, was sentenced to eight years for causing or allowing the youngster's death.

Herb Baumesiter - (un)successful businessman - family man - serial killer 

Herb was an odd character - strange goings on in the workplace and mannequins partying in the pool house, but no one could have anticipated that this man was responsible for up to 22 murders in and around Indianapolis 

Reports suggest his school friends talked of his having a fascination with dead animals and even that he even brought one to school. He showed destructive tendencies, would disrupt classes, and once reportedly urinated on a teacher's desk although little more is known about the reasons for this incident.
