Pertinence is a young, hungry and active artist that not only reps AZ but consistently puts out content and music for the world to hear. This episode was special not only because of the convo with Pert but the Golden State Warriors also won the NBA title (we take a moment to recognize). I think the consistency that both the Warriors and Pert put out is a fitting theme for this episode. It was dope to learn about his journey and approach to his work. He is very well in tune with the sonics and engineering aspects of his songs.
Speaking of consistency, Pert dropped a new track he’d been working on “Red Ferrari” the night of our show. This man stays working! He may be too humble to say it but he’s currently sitting at 29K monthly listeners on Spotify, 400K Tik Tok views…no big deal! Numbers don’t lie and those speak volumes. When you listen to tracks like Pick Ya Feet Up to Nighttime to Top Down, there’s no denying the depth and range.
Our youngest guest by far at the age of 20, Pert seems to have a well-rounded grasp of his sound and methods for his music. And the crazy thing is, he’s just getting started! He’s still got a lot more music coming, and a bright future ahead of him. We look forward to keeping up with his career and the opportunities he has. Listen, enjoy & follow!
Pilot Flying is a super talented and laid back artist hailing from VA by way of AZ. The fact that he only seriously started making music within the last few years is mind blowing cuz he spits like a vet. We not only dive into his music catalog but learn about his athletic background, the different places he’s lived and those close to him that helped him along his journey. As you're listening to his music, you might find it more enjoyable to listen as you sit aside Mary Jane and zone out to the casual vibes that Pilot puts out.
“Hard work will always beat out talent but when talent got hard work, you can’t come close!”
“Society advances when old men plant trees the shade of which they will never see.”
“Short time of building strong bonds”
Just some of the many dope quotes we captured in this episode. Oh, and don’t overlook the fact that this man is working on a cartoon??! Sheesh! His competitive spirit and drive is what keeps him going and helps push his career forward.
It was an honor to have Pilot be one of our first guests. We look forward to him putting out more music, seeing him perform and continuing to flourish as an artist repping the valley. Here’s to going to going up’ with Pilot flyin’!

It was dope to sit down and chop it up w/ Chris Vause. He truly is a "jack of all trades" and a student of the game when it comes to music. A one stop shop for all music needs. From engineering, videography, photography and being an artist himself. And he teaches?! What doesn't he do?? We cover his journey from Tucson, what inspires him to create, networking and his businesses. He's got a bright future and we had fun sharing his story.
