  • Terez on Brunch In The Basement With JaVonne
In this segment, we have the wonderfully deep, thoughtful and talented Terez Mychelle Carter-Thorpe joining us to discuss black history and the goings on in our nation today. Terez is a beautiful human being who always comes with a thought provoking perspective. She is a model, a thesbian, reality tv star, advocate for humanity and a great human being. The music on today's show will span decades of Afro American music. A very underrated contribution to the world and the fabric of our country. • 2 years of Brunch In The Basement With JaVonne
This segment will be all about the guests who have been kind enough to come through the basement and chat with us, play their music, and answer your calls.  We have been wonderfully blessed by such artists as Avery Sunshine, Monifah and Terez, Sarah Dash, Robin S., Inaya Day, Phil Perry, Joyce Sims, Kenny Bobien and so many more. Let us not forget the Indie Artists who have blessed us with their presence  such as Gloria Ryann, Nhojj, Tim Dillinger, and Carl Thornton. Then there were those like Robert Risko, Jai Davis,  and the great, great grandson of both Booker T. Washington and Frederick Douglass, Mr. Kenneth B. Morris. We have really been blessed!

  • My Ex is my Best Friend: The G-Spot with Meka Rae
    HI Bedroom Playmates!
Lets talk about keeping our exes as our bestfriend. Does this work out for some and if it does how does it make your current partner feel? Some of us find it hard to understand the dynamics between an ex and our current lover. How do you handle the exes of your current partner? Do you befriend him/her? Does it bother you if your lover is friends with his/her ex? Why or why not? Are there certain exes that your partner can be friends with compared to others? Why? Are there any circumstances where it is ideal for exes to be friends? What are the reasons (other than kids) that exes should remain friends?
I think this is going to be a great conversation! I can't wait to delve deeper...
    Lets talk.

  • Pre Valentine's Day with LaShonda Reese on Brunch In The Basement with JaVonne
It comes as no coincidence that the day we celebrate love comes in the same month that we celebrate Black History. My personal opinion is that both should be celebrated daily. However, in keeping up with tradition, we will play classic R&B music which celebrates Black Love and welcome our very special guest, Ms. LaShonda Reese as we discuss her brand new single "Beside Me" Which I absollutely LOVE! So, whether you're in love, out of love, in and out of love, can't hide love or whatever, tune in or call in. This segment is going to be full of just the love you need!

  • Sunday Evening Shout! Gospel Music In The Basement With JaVonne
Be sure to follow WJBR right here on Blogtalkradio. Tune in and call in tonight to hear some of our favorite gospel songs. I'm in the spirit tonight and just want to play some uplifting music for you. May be old school, may be some modern day contemporary gospel, may just be positive message music, may be gospel house. The great thing about doing this show is that I can play whatever I want to play and do whatever I want to do and in that order. The only thing I can promise is that the music and conversation will be uplifting and positive. I'm getting ready for the week ahead and starting it off on a positive note!
