There is only ONE thing we need in life to grab what we want! That is confidence. When we have confidence our abilities  we are able to receive any and everything need want out of life.

On Monday, Sept. 15th we will discuss women approaching a love interest to ask for his/her number, proposing to a man (is that considered confidence or desperation), going after our dreams/goals, and feeling confident enough to take initiative in the bedroom.

Questions we will address:

I see a guy I like...should I approach him? Is that "ladylike?"

Should I propose to my dominate/male partner? 

I want to write a book, start a business, and/or make a career change...can I really do it? What is stopping me? Is it fear?

I want to try some new things in the bedroom...how do I approach my spouse about it? 

How do I initiate sex in the bedroom?

The Jones Girls consisted of sisters Brenda, Valorie and Shirley Jones. Their biggest hit was "You Gonna Make Me Love Somebody Else". My personal favorite is "I Just Love The Man" but the ladies had many other hits and memorable songs such as "Nights Over Egypt" and "Who Can I Run To". Shirley was the first to make solo music and hit #1 on the R&B Charts with "Do You Get Enough Love" She continues to make beautiful soulful and rich music. Do you dress tomboyish but consider yourself "feminine" but people tend to call you a "stud", "butch", "aggressive," and/or "soft stud?" Are you feminine but people assume you are heterosexual, bisexual, or you are a pillow princess? Are you heterosexual but people think you are a lesbian just by the way you dress? 

Do labels play a huge part in how you are treated in a relationship? Are you expected to be the "man" of the house just because you dress more masculine? Are you feminine and expected to clean, cook, carry the baby, etc?

Ms. Sarah Dash is an original member of the legendary group Patti Labelle and The Bluebells which later became known as Labelle which included Ms. Dash, Nona Hendrix, and Patti Labelle. When the ladies went their own way, Ms. Dash continued to make wonderful music on her own and along with others such as Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones. Among some of her work, you will find that she has created outstanding spiritual music, some of which is traditional gospel and other songs have an upbeat gospel house rhythm. Either way, her music is always soulful and inspirational, just like the lady herself. We are so blessed to have her join us!

You may not know him by name yet, but  you may already know him by his works. Recently, Alvin Garrett's inspiring words and amazing vocal arrangements have been introduced by artists such as the R&B crooner, Joe, with the hit singles "I'd Rather Have A Love" and"Love and Sex" feat Fantasia. He also instructed all the ladies to "Make A Little Room"  with Capitol recording artist, Jarvis. Alvin Garrett’s words are already resonating through the airwaves. Now, it's time to hear and feel the passion of his thoughts through his own voice.  

 

Alvin Garrett has taken a giant step out of the shadows of his resume' with his solo debut album, “Expose Yourself.” With a variety of Urban and Soulful R&B, Alvin has tastefully arranged and delivered an instant classic.  Over the course of the past year, Alvin has been touring in the southern eastern region promoting his project. Should you have to pay for a date that someone asked you out on? Should the assumption be 50/50 or is it the responsibility of the person that asked? Should you gracefully bow out if you aren't able to foot the bill? Is it fair to ask someone out on a date and then expect them to pay for it? If you are asked on a date...do you make sure to have enough money to cover both you and the person asking? Also...what do you order on the menu? The most expensive item (even though you know you can't afford it on your own), the less expensive item (in consideration of your date's budget), or something you know you can afford as well?

Tonight we will have a replay of the interview with Sr. Bishop Zachary Glenn Jones of The Unity Fellowship Church of Christ in Brooklyn NY. Bishop Jones is a very important part of The Unity Fellowship Movement across the country and and the founder ot the same in NYC. An affirming church and theology, The Unity Fellowship Movement is widely known as the home church for thousands of LGBTQI persons in America, especially for persons of color. In this interview, Bishop Jones speaks about growing up gay and finding his place in the church.

Terez Mychelle is widely known for her recent marriage on popular reality tv show "R&B Divas" where she not only proposed, but married her beloved for the world to see. The impact has been monumental in changing minds in the black community about LGBT Love. A big reason for this is that both Terez and her wife Monifah are two of the sweetest, down to earth, keeping it real type sistahs you ever want to meet. It's hard to hate on what your heart recognizes as true love.
