Today I am airing yet another discussion with industry insiders, djs and producers. The conversation is part of my program that I launched this year, the POD interview series.

I have had some exciting, revealing and deep talks with Tinlicker, Quivver, Steve Parry, Karl K, Dave Seaman, Braxton and Marsh this year and today I wrap up 2024 with one of my favorite new producers, well new to me anyway, Lost Astronaut. (see the others in the POD interview series playlist)

As with the others we talk about his history as a producer, his influences, why break beats remain his go-to form of expression and what it has been like to have some of the biggest names in the industry play his tracks on a global stage. We discuss the success of his album, Was it all a dream, released on Morphosis earlier this year and how he has come to find community and support on Twitch. Gravers Lane is an ambient musician, party curator, and cross genre DJ specializing in darkwave, electro, techno, goth, UKG, and more. She’s held a resident radio show at Great Circles for four years and also is a co-founder of the party Hydrate, a femme forward dance music night. She is 1/6th of the cutie queer collective, That Way. If she’s not DJing, she’s probably at the goth night.

PetaL is the resident freak of Freak Flag, and a long-time DJ and technical engineer working behind the scenes at WKDU. Driven by eclecticism, they blend tracks across a variety of sounds including house, techno, disco, breaks and bass. Not bounded by genre, experience, or expression, Freak Flag focuses on exploring the world of electronic music with a guest DJ on each week and is guided by community and collaboration.

e-v is excited to be back on the airwaves and get more involved in Philly, having their roots in college radio starting in 2014 at WRCT 88.3FM, and briefly at WKDU in 2019. They got their start in Pittsburgh’s dance music scene as a founding member of the former Hot Mass/In The Weeds collective @gfx-pgh. Genre-agnostic, they’re a lover of straight-forward dance music with a twist: punk rock slop, laptop pop, acid nonstop, tunes with a drop, and f-a-cop hip-hop. Expect some of their favorite techno tracks as of late.
