  • WKPJB The Indie Storm feat Dashaun Jiwe Morris Death Coast
Join Jamie Bond, Chamber 7 & Kelligraphy Pens on Tuesday March 4th 2014 Featuring Brick Citys own Dashaun Jiwe Morris His movie Death Coast is premiering Thursday. FOLLOW HIM!! twitter/I.g  @JiweX7
Dashaun “Jiwe” Morris is from Newark, New Jersey. At the age of thirty two, sits atop the totem pole of street politics in his city. His is a story as unique as it is universal. Coming from a troubled home, a young Jiwe was recruited to join the Bloods before he was even twelve years old. By the time he was eleven, Jiwe had already participated in his first drive by shooting. Perhaps it was his talent for football that contributed to saving his life. A star athlete in high school, Jiwe was recruited to attend Delaware State University on a full athletic scholarship. But while he continued to excel on the field, his involvement with the Bloods would ultimately take a turn for the worse as Jiwe proceeded largely unabated down a path that would subsequently lead to his indictment for attempted murder. Incarcerated and faced with the prospect of raising his daughter from behind bars, Jiwe began to look deep within himself for answers that would explain his predicament. What began as a soul searching exercise would later turn into a gripping account of street life through the eyes of a full blown gang banger. In April of 2008 Jiwe’s first book, War Of The Bloods In My Veins, was published by Scribner, a division of famed publishing house Simon & Schuster. Today Jiwe is a free man and uses his influence and credibility in the streets to uplift at-risk youth across America. Traveling to high schools, colleges and juvenile detention facilities, the man who once embraced a lifestyle that promoted violence now spends his time urging adolescents to fight poverty through education and earn for bigger and greater rewards outside the confines of dilapidated neighborhoods and broken homes

    JAMILLIONS
Hailing from San Rafael, California, Jamillions shared his youth between sunny Northern California and the cold of Anchorage, Alaska. Between the two very diverse and varied environments is where Jamillions honed his R&B/Pop talents.
Pursuing music when his peers were not became a big challenge for Jamillions. It forced him to go outside of his comfort zone and find the other musicians and producers to help him along his career.  Some of those musicians and music industry affiliates include people like Eric Hudson (Kanye West, Leona Lewis), Too Short, Traxamillion (Keak Da Sneak, E-40), Mistah FAB, and many others. Two of Jamillions songs have received spins on 94.9 KYLD, 106.1 KMEL in San Francisco
His music played on Radio stations from the Bay Area to Japan and all over the world which lead to Jamillions releasing two albums in Japan that reached the top 5 in the Japanese R&B charts, while his single single “Love you like I do” stayed at #1 for 4 weeks toping Ne-Yo’s single ‘Beautiful Monster’.
Additionally, Jamillions signed to a label in Japan called Starbase Entertainment who had licensed his albums “Almost Famous” and “9”. Jamillions has also had his music play on TV stations like MTV, VH-1, and E True Hollywood.  His song “Time Machine” aired as the theme song for the reality show: ‘T.I. and Tiny: A family Hustle seasons 1, 2, & 3.’ ‘Basketball Wives’, ‘The Real World: Washington Heights’, ‘Single Ladies’, ‘The Kardasians’ and many other hit Reality Shows have all played songs written or recorded by Jamillions.

  • WKPJB Radio Open Mic featuring Prentice Powell
    WKPJB Radio Presents
Join Jamie Bond, Chamber 7 and Kelligraphy Pens as we get up close and personal with the King of Poetry Prentice Powell.  Straight off Fiveology's TV debut on Arsenio Hall...This is a show you want want to miss!!
With humility uncommon to those of like talent, he humbly approaches every stage from Amsterdam to South Africa knowing that he has a gift, yet boasts of it only in his confident demeanor. As an educator, a family man and much more than a writer, he is an accomplished spoken word artist and one fifth of the phenomenal spoken word collective, Fiveology. He has been recognized as a National Slam Finalist, opened for musical acts such as Jill Scott, Goapele and Stevie Wonder, made appearances on Verses & Flow seasons 1, 2, and 3, hosted numerous open mics throughout California to include Mouth Off at the Air Lounge in Oakland, recently became the first spoken word artist to perform on the Arsenio Hall show and appeared again with Fiveology. His modesty regarding his spoken and written talents is notable, considering that both adequately communicate the depth of his consciousness in rhyme for those willing to learn from it. As a distinguished member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc, he embodies the mentality of scholarship, fellowship, good character, and the desire to uplift humanity. We at WKPJB are honored and privileged to have this opportunity to speak with the remarkably talented Prentice Powell.
