What happens when we ask “Why?”, and we don’t get an answer? What happens when we reach out to God, but we don’t hear anything back? This week we look at Jesus’ lowest moment, when He reached out to God but couldn’t find Him.

What can we learn from the prayers of Jesus? In the last week of Jesus’s life we hear in his prayers his desire for God to move, his desire for intimacy, his desire to submit and to do the will of the Father, despite the challenge it presents. These are real prayers – prayers made in the midst of difficult circumstances, prayers that in many ways reflect his desperation. These are the prayers that took him to the cross.

Exile is a huge theme in the Bible, carrying from beginning to end. The early Christians called themselves exiles, but what did that mean? This week we look at the new part that we have to play in our world when we make Jesus our King.
