You’re never more teachable than in the midst of a transition

Feeling a little lost and not quite sure what to do? There’s no “playbook” for how the church is to respond to something like COVID-19, but the early church didn’t have a playbook either, they didn’t know “how to do church” either. This week Pastor Terry looks at five Kingdom commitments we can make to anchor us as a church as we move forward together in this time of uncertainty.

What happens when we ask “Why?”, and we don’t get an answer? What happens when we reach out to God, but we don’t hear anything back? This week we look at Jesus’ lowest moment, when He reached out to God but couldn’t find Him.

What can we learn from the prayers of Jesus? In the last week of Jesus’s life we hear in his prayers his desire for God to move, his desire for intimacy, his desire to submit and to do the will of the Father, despite the challenge it presents. These are real prayers – prayers made in the midst of difficult circumstances, prayers that in many ways reflect his desperation. These are the prayers that took him to the cross.
