In this message we will look at the importance of family relationships in our homes and in the church. Who you are at home matters!

Jude tells the early Church to defend the faith. But what exactly are we defending? And how do we do that? The answer is a bit upside-down, but thankfully, so is God’s Kingdom.

Terry guides us through the first half of Jude, a short, but powerful and relevant letter on the dangers of trying to change the message of Jesus to fit our own desires. Jude’s call to respond and defend the faith reaches out to us today. Where is the Holy Spirit compelling you into action?

Mike finishes teaching through the second part of 3rd John. In the final section of the letter, John encourages Gaius not to follow Diotrephes example. Instead, we learn that we should continue to serve one another and imitate those that are doing good. Hospitality continues to stand out as a theme in this letter and we end 3rd John by taking a look at a couple from WMBC who are living out the gospel message through hospitality.

In an effort to build community within our church family we’ve been sharing each other’s stories. And we just think that taking time to do that and listening to one another is a way of honoring each other. To build empathy and compassion, it just shows that we value each other’s journey.

So today we’re going to share the story of two leaders that have shaped us as a church.

Mike begins teaching through the first part of 3rd John. In the initial section of the letter, John encourages Gaius to continue to show hospitality to traveling missionaries. Hospitality stands out as a theme in this letter and we are encouraged to be hospitable towards others for the sake of the Gospel. The way we invite others into our home is a reflection of our Heavenly Father inviting us into His home.

The letter of 2 John punches above its weight. In this short letter, John guided a home church network through a crisis by helping them refocus on the truth that Jesus shows us about God, and His command to love others. How do we respond to this letter in our own time and place?

This week we dive into the world of the Early Church in an effort to understand the New Testament letters on their own terms. Then we take what we learned to the second letter that John wrote to a church in crisis.
