May 13, 2021 Jon Baker- Gee Street to Geejam
In 1990, Chris Blackwell signed P.M. Dawn, and proposed a joint venture with Island/PolyGram that secured Gee Street's roster for Island. Back in the US, Baker became a senior A&R man on the Island Records team and head of Blackwell's newly formed Island Jamaica label for North America, which included Luciano, Chaka Demus and Pliars, and Beenie Man, among others. In 1996, Blackwell left Island and the Polygram group. With this, Baker bought Gee Street and resold 75% of it to Richard Branson. In the deal, Baker retained control of Gee Street's marketing, promotion and A&R, while Branson made Gee Street the cornerstone of V2 Records in North America and named Baker co-President.
John Baker is now a Hotelier, impresario with decades of music industry experience and a knack for hospitality.

May 13, 2021 Bob Marley Inspired Ajax Jersey Leaks, Causes A Stir Among Football Fans
The island of Jamaica and its culture continue to be in demand among European fashion houses and establishments. The latest is apparently the Dutch football club, Ajax.
According to unofficial reports and a leaked jersey design online, the Amsterdam-based football club’s 3rd kit for the 2021/22 season will be inspired by Reggae Legend Bob Marley and the song Three Little Birds.
The design, which first leaked in December, went viral yesterday as it grabbed attention from fans all over the world. The leak came courtesy of Twitter user and shirt expert, @hendocfc, who claimed that his info was sourced from a catalog that he has access to. According to Footyheadlines.com, the expert recreated the design of the kit, which is predicted to be mainly black with a round collar in the Rastafari colors red, green, and gold. The colors are also used for the 3 stripes on the shoulder. The logos on the front of the jersey are likely going to be red.

DJ Khaled has been promoting Khaled Khaled since his last album dropped in 2019. No one really knows why and how Khaled is able to have more guest appearances than an Obama All Black White House party. But he keeps getting them.
Khaled Khaled is a 14 track effort by We The Best/ Epic Records, a division of Sony Music Entertainment. A legacy project, Khaled kneels in the Garden of Holy Mountain on the cover in prayer surrounded by his two sons Asahd and Aalam who along with Allah are executive producers.
The album soberingly starts off with the Ain’t No Love sample and the haunting but resurrecting sound of negro spirituals. A grateful Lil Wayne and a recovering Jeremih croon survival at all cost as the choir’s melody sets the tone for a wild ride.
The irony and artistry of a song named Thankful, sampling Bobby Bland’s Ain’t No Love track, released in 1974 and famously sampled by Jay-Z in 2001 for his Blueprint Album cut of the same name, affirms Khaled’s ability to resurrect familiar sounds and make them new.

Costi is the producer for Spice, Shaggy and Sean Paul's latest hit "Guh Dung Deh".

Born in Constanța, Costi began his musical career by singing Romanian traditional folkloric music. He however achieved fame as a member of the Pop music boy band Valahia, enjoying several hits. In 1999 he started to experiment with manele, a composite Balkanic musical style, and in 2000 he collaborated with acclaimed manele singer Adrian Minune on Of, viața mea ("Oh, my life"),one of the first mainstream successes of the genre in Romania. Following Valahia's dissolution in 2002, he started a solo career, concentrating on manele. In this period he collaborated with several well known manele singers.Unlike some Romani counterparts, Costi Ioniță does not use a nickname.Despite his success in manele, he also experimented with other musical styles, such as lăutărească, populară or turbo-folk.
In the late 2000s Costi extended his act in the Balkans and Middle East, achieving success in Turkey and Saudi Arabia with the song Ca la Amsterdam ("Like in Amsterdam"), a tune included in the 2010 compilation issued by Café del Mar.He also launched several hits in Bulgaria, in collaboration with local turbo-folk singers.
Since 2008 Costi acts as producer and songwriter for the pop/rock girl band Blaxy Girls. In 2009 he reached the finals of the Romanian selection for the Eurovision Song Contest with three songs he composed, one sung by himself, one by Blaxy Girls, and the third by another group, IMBA.
In July 2007 he launched a music channel, Party TV,and in October that year his company received licence for another two music TV channels, one of them, Mynele TV, dedicated to promoting manele.
