Shane Brown is a master music mixer. He is from a family of musicians and has worked with some of the greatest artist in Reggae music including Richie Spice, Shabba Ranks, Busy Signal and Tarrus Riley. He is a producer who came of age in the 1990s through studio apprenticeship. He currently manages Tarrus Riley and operates his music label JukeBoxx Productions. In the early 1980s she began making documentaries for Channel Four television, developing and producing the world-music show Big World Cafe. We talk about cultural appropriation, modern music and the impact of Bob Marley over the years.

In this insightful episode. David Lyn and I talk about his journey as a self taught singer, songwriter, producer. We discuss the current state of hip hop, reggae and dancehall music and how they can be fused through code switching.
