Beginning in James 1:20, we see that we are to "Lay aside all filthiness, and to receive the implanted Word, which is able to save our souls." The Word of God helps renew our souls; The soul being our mind, will, and emotions. James shows us to use the Word as a guide to grow into His perfection. That is found in being a doer of the Word and not a hearer only.

Continuing in our study on the book of James, we begin to see that what Christians believe should effect what they do. What we believe should be a constant through our actions. Our Faith should be solely based on the Word of God, letting His promises effect our motives, words, and actions. 

We look in the New Testament in the life of James, as well the book he wrote. What was life like in the beginning of when Christianity was established? Many traditions of Judaism were done away with when the completion of Jesus on the Cross happened; they were types and shadows of what was to happen within our hearts. We see a new life to live in now, a life of Love and Grace for those around us, and this does not depend on the person, this life Jesus died for is for all people. 

Tonight our Minister in training Elijah teaches about the foundations we should establish in our lives. In these days it is so important to have our main foundations established on understanding who the Father is, and our relationship to Him. Keep our eyes focused on the Unchanging and Eternal God. 

Jesus says that we shall be witnesses for Him. We should start with our Family, to our Community, and as we grow, our influence should grow also. We should be growing in boldness too, having a stronger trust in the Eternal, Unchanging God. Knowing His plans are far greater than what we can ever think. 

Our hope and trust must be in the Unchanging and Unfailing God. One of the flaws that we have as humans is wanting to trust things that fall into our five senses, and none of those are eternal. As the world around us changes, we need to keep our hope and trust in the Eternal God. 

Our Ability to get to Heaven is not by our ability to do, but by the ability of the One who saved us. Jesus was the Ultimate sacrifice, once-for-all. And we are placed In Him, and we need to learn our position In Him. Who are we? We are redeemed, Righteous, and In Christ.
