When God redeemed us, when He bought us from sin, He made us HIS. 

神様が、私たちを罪から贖い出して下さったとき、私たちは「神のもの」とされました。 

Being HIS means that we have an "obligation" to HIM! 

「神のもの」であるとは、私たちは神様に対して「責務」を担っているということ！

An obligation to do all the things that please Him. 

それはすべて神様が喜ばれることを行う責務です。

And we know that those things are what is right, pure and holy. 

また私たちは、何が正くしく、純粋で、聖なるものであることを知っています。

And it is right for God to expect us to do them because He has the complete ownership of our lives!
また、神様は私たちの人生すべての所有権をお持ちですから、それらを行うことを私たちに期待することは当然なことです！

Paul in Romans 14:7-9 says, “7For we don’t live for ourselves or die for ourselves. 8If we live, it’s to honor the Lord. And if we die, it’s to honor the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. 9Christ died and rose again for this very purpose – to be Lord both of the living and of the dead.”

パウロはローマ書14：7―9で「だれひとり自分のために生きる者はなく、だれひとり自分のために死ぬ者はない。 8わたしたちは、生きるのも主のために生き、死ぬのも主のために死ぬ。だから、生きるにしても死ぬにしても、わたしたちは主のものなのである。 9なぜなら、キリストは、死者と生者との主となるために、死んで生き返られたからである。
