These are the tips and ways that I read tarot cards that appear in weird positions when working with a set spread. These cards may throw you for a loop, but looking at them in new ways can give you powerful, honest, and beautiful readings. 

Tips:

1. Don't create good/bad tarot opinions. All tarot cards have the capacity for light and shadow
2. Use the spectrum of the card to help provide a movable narrative
   1. active/passive, light/shadow, in balance/out of balance, starts/stops
   2. See where the card shows up in the real world
3. See where the card resides in the tarot deck, and which part of the deck it is (Major Arcana, Minor Arcana, Court Cards)
4. Look at the ways the cards interact with each other
5. Break down the card into the symbolism
6. Remember that the tool is not here to tell you what you want to hear.

We also discuss working with a deck that resonates and seeing some potential pitfalls with more minimalistic decks.

The Hermit is a tarot card from the Major Arcana that speaks to wild sovereignty and a need for internal reflection so that we can change our external world with independence and autonomy. This tarot card shows that our internal light is the flame that lights the way externally. This is how we become a way-shower for others and honor the ones who have guided us in our spirit.

Main themes:

• The darkness in the spirit holds the greatest treasures
• Wisdom is gained from the internal depths
• Keepers of the light known the darkness is not to be feared

My review on my second oldest tarot deck, the Ostara Tarot. This is a deck that pays homage to the Rider-Waite tarot deck, while making it modern with elements of femininity, fantasy, whimsy, and nature. 

This collaborative tarot deck is a symbiotic relationship between four different artists from Canada, made in 2017. The differences in the rendering aid the decks unique and flowing feel. 

For the price point, I feel like this deck is a must-have. Nothing has been cheapened, or shortened. This feels like a high-end, good quality deck because it is. I love reading with this deck, and feel it brings a certain vibe to my collection that I haven't been able to replicate.

• Card images / artistry: 4 out of 5
• Guidebook: 3.5 out of 5
• Card Stock and Backing: 4.5 out of 5
• Packaging: 3.5 out of 5 (this rating fell due to the metallic gilding on the card edges that made me slightly rip two cards)
• User / Beginner Friendly: 4.5 out of 5 
• Availability: 5 out of 5

Experiencing the losses I did in such a short time made me stray from all that I once held dear. The grief and anger took over and made me question everything I had built my life on. Now, I am trying to find it again in new ways. I am trying to surrender, trust, and believe in the practice, hold myself accountable, and use my spirit as a pivot toward the guides I follow, and Lilith, always. 

In this episode, I talk about and honor my cats. I honor how they came into my life and changed it for the better. I remember them, which is to keep them alive in my heart. 

I also share the three main ways I am working to rebuild my practice:

After the Chariot tarot card, we enter the Major Arcana's second line. Tarot card #8 is either Strength or Justice. These are the only two cards that change positions. Strength makes the most sense at #8 because we are being initiated into the cycles of destruction, loss, death cycles, and relinquishing of ego. 

In this episode, we will discuss intuitive reading methods, embrace the light/shadow aspects of the Strength tarot card, examine Leo's astrology, and unpack the imagery in the card itself. We will also discuss the need for the Strength card amidst the political climate, and overcoming potential personal setbacks.

If I were stranded on a desert island and could only bring a specific number of my tarot and/or oracle decks, this episode breaks down which decks I would bring and why.

I discuss the artistic vibe I need in a deck, which color palettes I prefer, and also include what time periods or feelings these decks invoke within me. Many of these decks have running themes of the wilderness, a Victorian gothic vibe, and a nod to the animal and plant world. On December 21st, we experience the shortest day and the longest night. Yule or the Winter Solstice, also known as the Night of Mothers, is a time of celebration, generosity, and reciprocity. This day promises the Sun's rebirth and renewal and the cycles surrounding life.

However, Winter still speaks to the energies of the Crone, Death, and the Storm. On this day of the Pagan Wheel of the Year, we need to pay homage to the darkness, as we look to the coming light and warmth of Spring and Summer.

In this episode, I discuss what I believe are the sacred teachings of Yule, a brief history of this sacred day from different cultures, locations, or groups of people, and ways to celebrate this day today.

The final forecast for December is taking everything you have been through this year, and transforming it, and yourself, into something that is stronger and more grounded as you enter the threshold of 2025.

Working with our tarot and oracle decks, the first card we engage with is Wise Salt from the The Wild Unknown Alchemy deck. This card is about wisdom, grit, and perseverance. This card is about building wisdom over time to benefit the collective. This could come through working with your ancestors and elders. This could come from reflection and stillness. Mostly, this comes from letting your emotions and tears move you into healing, surrender, guidance, and ownership. The second card is the King of Pentacles, and speaks to using that wisdom from the oracle card to root in your actions towards long-term change.

• Share your wisdom with others, and let the guides, elders, and ancestors you work with guide you
• Connect your spirit into the spirit of all things to create mindful change

The final card in the first row of the Major Arcana (the Creation line) is the Chariot. This episode goes in depth into the invitations of the Chariot, including the symbolism and imagery from my tarot deck collection.

• Determination as mover- higher frequency, moving with wild, spiritual purpose, in alignment with interconnections, including Divine.
• Intuition illuminates the way towards what is calling you to create change, to manifest, to better, to grow
• Awareness of self and beyond opens to a more aligned spirit, the many journeys taken connect back to core truths and intuitive connections

The Chariot brings a lot of forward momentum, but also sets us up to be ready to walk through the second line of the Major Arcana of the tarot (the Destruction line). Finally, I read the Chariot poem from my book Major Arcana: A Poetry Collection.

This month, especially considering the detrimental nature of the election's outcome, the work is just beginning. The work is about standing up, and bringing your authentic presence, and using that to create safe spaces for your pack, and change for the good of all. 

The way you show up now is going to change. It should. You are being asked to deepen, transform, and move with a deeper, more unified purpose. The tarot and oracle cards for this month's forecast are: The Alchemical Wedding from the Wild Unknown Alchemy deck and the 3 of Cups from the Spirit Animal Tarot. 

The main themes that we talk about this month are:

• Finding ways to make the cards fit into our feelings, and our narratives
• Working with the spectrums of the self (masculine/feminine for example) to create something more wholesome and layered
• Honoring all that is still here in your life that you love, and continuing to fall in love with it as a radical act

This forecast is about showing up radically, with a full and open heart. This month is the call of the Universe to begin the radical work. We begin with our presence.
