In this episode, I interviewed Katrina of 'Cultivate Art Therapy'. Katrina is a trauma counselor, art therapist & visual artist. She struggled with chronic sexual pain for 10 years and now works with humans with chronic vulvar/vaginal pain or other sexual pain. In this episode, I interview Kaila of the 'Parent Tell' podcast. Kaila became a Mama near the beginning of lockdown in May of 2020. We chat about her pregnancy and how the changes in her body and feeling completely out of control around them impacted her. Her birth that resulted in a cervical tear that ultimately led to a hemorrhage and required emergency surgery. In this episode I chat with friend and colleague, Hannah Jefferson of Soul and Lune Wellness. Hannah has direct experience with a variety of hormonal birth control methods, all of which ended up not working out for her. She eventually found her way to managing her fertility with the fertility awareness method. She also shares about period pain & pelvic PT for painful intercourse.

In this episode, I interview my long-time friend, Christine (Cooper) Burgos (we met in 8th grade!!) I had my very first period ever and went to a party at her house that night. Anyway! She has three boys 11, 7 & 3. Her first labor started after she was induced. The labor was very long and she ended in a C-section because he just wasn't coming out! After the birth of her first son, she decided to avoid the traumatic labor portion and go straight for a C-section. Unfortunately, this time she was given too much medication. She was having trouble breathing and there was a lot of fear in the room. After this experience, she became pregnant again, but unfortunately this was a missed miscarriage at 7 weeks. She was devastated, of course, but it was through this pregnancy that she realized that she REALLY did want to have another babe! Her third son came along shortly after and he was a planned C-section as well. Everything went smoothly with his birth at last!

We also chat about how motherhood changes you, and makes you in to a kinder, more compassionate and selfless human. Please enjoy this episode with Christine.

In this episode, I had the pleasure of connecting with Jasmine Rice. Jasmine has struggled with ovarian cysts & endometriosis and has received multiple surgeries to help alleviate the pain associated with these conditions. She also suffered 2 early miscarriages while married to her ex-husband. She faced divorce after these miscarriages, and eventually was told that she was entering perimenopause at age 40. She is a life coach that utilizes neurolinguistic programming (NLP) in her practice to help clients free themselves from negative thinking. In this episode, I had the great pleasure of chatting with Missy Campbell. Missy is a Mama to 4 children aged 18, 16, 12 & 11. She had all of her children unassisted at home! She has such a beautiful relationship to using fertility awareness for birth control (and eventually conception) as well as menstruation. She has also shared this with her two teenage daughters. We chat about pregnancy, homebirth, free range living & homeschool. She was also trained as a midwife assistant at "The Farm" in Tennessee so she brings that knowledge to the table also. In this episode, I interview eating disorder recovery coach, Tabitha Farrar. She recovered from her own eating disorder and now guides others through recovery from eating disorders. She has found that over the years, many of her clients became pregnant and then struggle to get enough nutrition in the postpartum phase. Outside of diagnosed eating disorders, this is common among many women with the pressure to return to their pre-pregnancy shape and size. Many women will find themselves exercising too soon (or too intensely) and eating too little. There is also a huge misconception in terms of how much additional energy needs there are while caring for a new baby (and especially if a woman is breastfeeding).

Amy Porter is in a same-sex marriage and had a 4 year old daughter and 1 year old son. She is a coronary heart disease advocate & child educator. In this episode, we focus on the birth of her son that was diagnosed with a heart defect at her 28-week ultrasound. The issue had gone undetected in previous scans, and she is now an advocate for early detection so that immediate action can be taken when the babe makes their way earth-side.
