Mary Ann McLaughlin, M.D., M.P.H., F.A.C.C.

Dr. McLaughlin is serving her second term as President of the American Heart Association Board of Directors, New York City. The medical director of the cardiac health program at Mount Sinai, she is a cardiologist who specializes in protecting women’s heart health. Her research explores how hormonal differences between men and women affect heart disease.

Dr. McLaughlin is a graduate of Georgetown University School of Medicine, she trained in Internal Medicine at The New York Hospital/Cornell Medical Center.  She completed her fellowship in Cardiovascular Medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and received her Master’s in Public Health degree at Columbia University School of Public Health.   Dr. McLaughlin is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Medicine and Health Evidence and Policy.

She is the recipient of many awards and grants from the National Institutes of Health, the Centers for Disease Control/National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, the American Heart Association, the New York Academy of Medicine, the American College of Cardiology and the Agency for Healthcare Quality and Research.
