Dominic is highly regarded as a cybersecurity thought leader and was recently appointed to the BC Provincial Cyber Security Advisory Committee.

Dominic focuses much of his energy on providing strategic security leadership to technology start-ups and small/midsize businesses to proactively solve their cyber risk challenges. He strives to provide practical cybersecurity advice to his clients and actively turning the security consulting world upside down.

In this episode, we interview Dr Suzanne Donnovan - UCLA Professor of Medicine and Infectious Diseases Expert in Outbreak Management and Infection Prevention & Control. In this special edition of Women of Inspiration™ Podcast, Suzanne shares her insights and expert opinion from the front lines of the COVOD-19 Pandemic, what we can do to isolate and contain the virus.

Dr Suzanne Donovan is a UCLA Professor of Medicine and Infectious Diseases specialist who is an internationally recognized expert in outbreak response, emerging infections, and prevention of hospital-based transmission of infections. As a medical student and African Studies Scholar in the US, she worked and researched Dar es Salaam, Tanzania at the beginning of the AIDS epidemic where she saw some of the first cases of AIDs in Africa. She was the Medical Director of the Los Angeles County (LAC) Immunization and Sexually Transmitted Disease Programs, which are the largest public health programs in the US. At the Immunization program, she oversaw the implementation of vaccine programs and led all of the outbreak investigations of vaccine-preventable diseases, such as measles, in a population of 13 million.

 Dr Donovan has travelled internationally from areas including Amazonia, Central America, Asia and Africa in her outbreak work. Most recently, she has appointed the Special Pathogens to lead for a California biocontainment unit dedicated to novel corona virus-infected patients during the current COVID19 epidemic and is on the Los Angeles county COVID Response Team. She is passionate in her efforts to assist hospitals, non-governmental (NGO) and national organizations in outbreak management and prevention of hospital-based transmission of emerging infections all over the world.

In this episode, we interview, Mia Martina - Multi-platinum, international recording artist.

With a career spanning almost a decade long and boasting a catalogue of chart-topping hits, Mia Martina has made a name for herself as a multi-platinum, international recording artist. Based in Toronto and Miami, she grew up in Saint-Ignace, New Brunswick and later attended Carleton University in Ottawa where she obtained a Masters degree in psychology. While there, she got an internship at CP Records, where she moved from office work to singing backup for artists on the label. 

She made her solo recording debut in 2010 with the global smash "Stereo Love.” Soon after, Miasecured 8 gold records, 2 platinum records and dominated charts all over the world. Proving herself as a more than just a singer-songwriter, Mia has been celebrated as a strategic and savvy businesswoman providing coaching and mentorship to young girls and businesswomen alike. As she continues to perform internationally, Mia is working on new music and is currently penning her first book.

In this episode, we interview, Lindsay Sill - Chief Operating Officer & Interim Executive Director of Quantum Algorithms Institute | Universal Womens Network™ National Ambassador | The Nest Foundation™, Vice Chair

As soon as I discovered UWN and all of the great things being done to empower and recognize women, I knew being a national Ambassador was an initiative I wanted to get involved in. I’m currently in between jobs right now and focusing on taking care of my kids through the pandemic, so it’s a great time to give my time back to volunteering for things like this that align so nicely with my passions and priorities. I can’t wait for this year’s awards to feel the emotion that results from recognizing the talent and goodwill that we have in this great country. Lindsay is an Executive with a demonstrated history of working in the information technology and services industry. She is skilled in Strategic Partnerships, Management, Leadership, Team Leadership, and Project Management. 

She has a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Victoria. Prior to over a decade-long career at WestGrid, she worked as a Laboratory Manager in the Department of Medicine for the University of Calgary where she did research on gene therapy and immunology, which eventually lead to a publication in Nature. Lindsay was also an Advisory Board member of the first international and Canadian chapter of the non-profit organization Women in HPC, which works to improve the gender balance in advanced research computing. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Kelowna Ultimate Players society, as ultimate frisbee is one of her many passions. She lives in Kelowna, BC with her husband and two sons.
