In this episode, we interview, Dana Leveson - Dana Levenson is a Television News Personality with  20+ years working in broadcast TV news and information programming. 

Levenson was born and raised in TORONTO. She studied at The University of Western Ontario achieving a Bachelor of Arts in film studies. As well as achieving a second degree Bachelor of Applied Art in Television and Radio arts at Ryerson University.

Since 2000, Levenson worked as a news reporter and anchor at CTV News in TORONTO. Her role varied but, namely as a general news reporter and weekend weather anchor.

Levenson has interviewed some of the biggest names in politics, entertainment, sports, and health & education. Including, Kawai Lenoard, Wayne Gretzky, Sarah Jessica Parker, Martin Short, and Richard Branson.  Levenson was also an on-air contributor to CTV’s Canada AM, Your Morning, News Channel, and The Social.

Levenson interned in New York City at CBS News with Dan Rather before joining the CTV team.

Levenson recently left her position to discover other opportunities in TV & the digital industry. She is highly skilled in Live TV News including Anchoring, Interviewing/News Reporting, Performing, Moderating & social media.

In this episode, we interview, Marnie Grundman - Author, Advocate, Speaker |2019 Women of Inspiration Advocate and Catalyst Award.

I began running away at the tender age of 5 years old after being dropped out of a two-story window; by 13, I was living on the streets full-time, having finally left my abusive family for good. I share my personal story with full transparency and vulnerability that draws audiences in as if I were speaking to each person individually. Along with my personal story of overcoming adversity, I work to advocate for our youth experiencing homelessness, delving into the misunderstood topics at the heart of this grave issue.

Marnie Grundman has been featured on over 100 major television and radio shows in Canada, the United States and Europe including TEDx, Breakfast Television, Global News, CP24 News, The Marilyn Denis Show, Young Justice, Here and Now CBC, NewsTalk 1010, CJAD, and the National Association of Adult Survivors of Child Abuse. A child who belonged to no one, missing at the age of 13, she spent years living on the streets where she experienced the worst of humanity first-hand. In her darkest hours, while living in an apartment complex sauna, she was sure that everyone who knew her had forgotten that she even existed. It was in those desperate hours that she decided she was paying upfront for a better life that lay ahead. What began as a story of healing led to one of triumph, of the power of the human spirit, of one woman's survival against all odds. 

Marnie has since become an advocate for the missing, working to change the perception of runaway children so they might finally get the help they desperately need. Marnie speaks on a variety of topics related to children, child abuse, sexual assault, runaways, homeless youth, human trafficking (as a certified Shared Hope ambassador and survivor) and healing from trauma. While her number one mission is to break the stereotypes related to runaways and people experiencing homelessness she also speaks on a variety of topics designed to motivate people to reach beyond the stars. Marnie’s personal experience as a homeless youth and runaway gives her the ability to share a first- hand insight that touches and inspires her audience. She is candid and possesses a vulnerability that allows her to connect on a deep level with her listeners. her to connect on a deep level with her listeners.

In this episode, we interview, Chris Kennedy | Writer | Musician.

Chris, first love? Music!! I can’t play a lick, but my entire life has been a draw to all things musical.  Stints at record stores as a teen and a radio, stage and television arts course at SAIT set me up for a Music Director role with a major radio station in Calgary [CHFM]. In radio, I also found an opportunity as a writer, which brought notoriety through awards including a runner-up placing for a coveted CLEO.

I moved to Vancouver to pursue a role with any major recording label and found my dream with Warner Brothers. Fourteen years working at building relationships with radio, television, and print media throughout BC.

Music downloading sucked the life out of an entire industry, and the life out of my dream job.  Going back to school I channelled me skills into Public Relations and worked in diverse industries from television to banking. Still, something was missing — passion.  That’s the gap where entrepreneurship got under my skin, however, it was a seminar that changed my life. Orlando, 2008, an intense 10-day marathon with Tony Robbins witnessing testimonies of many courageous women expressing suffering even they did not understand, the suffering of their feminine dispossessed by their own masculine.

I now seek many answers to a question presumed resolved at birth — what is feminine? Chris is writing a book, and host a podcast: The Virgin The Beauty & The Bitch and his purpose is to inspire the rejection of ingrained social prejudices that segregate people based on sex and gender. To also displace dogmas of intolerance within religions, politics, and media, with a spirit of mutual respect that is humane toward all human beings.

CHRISTOPHER: If I must be placed in a box make it the one labelled Servant-Leader. Put me in with those who engineer change for the good of all humanity through deeds inspired by the golden rule. My education comes from paying attention to life, my degree is in making change happen, and my profession is the pursuit of Yin and Yang — the harmony of opposites.  My name is Christopher, I am a writer with an answer on the tip of my pen to a question few ever ask — what it feminine?

In this episode, we have the honour of interviewing Jessica Tsang | Founder and Director, Direct Health Solutions | 2018 Women of Inspiration™ Millennial Leader Award.

Jessica is a family nurse practitioner on a mission to improve the quality of health care and increase access to health care. After spending years working in ICU and urgent care, she felt exasperated seeing health complications that could have been prevented by early screening and treatment. She started asking her patients why… and they told her that they struggled to get to the clinic for various reasons. For many, leaving the home is simply not feasible due to physical and/or psychological challenges.

It is proven that a lack of primary health care leads to a poor quality of health, a poor quality of life, and even early death. Jessica removes the barrier of going to the clinic by bringing medical and laboratory services to people in their homes. The provision of medical house calls are proven to help seniors maintain their independence, support individuals and families to optimize their health, improve end-of-life care for palliative patients in their homes, and divert unnecessary 911 calls and visits to the emergency department.

It is a timely interview as we discuss the impact of the current global economic pandemic, compassion, gratitude for our front-line teams and drawing on the adversity from her past to face the challenges today! Hear Sharilyn's inspiring story of a young strong, academic woman living on the streets as a young teen was inspired to choose a career leading her to work for the Red Cross as a delegate for disaster relief to completing her MBA, to embarking on a solo journey to Argentina to building an award-winning ecological boutique hotel in Argentina where she works to create global sustainability advocates with each guest as they experience up-close experiences with animals in the wild. When she is not creating experiences and running her eco-friendly hotel, she is working on bringing justice to organized crime groups that harass the businesses in the region.

Born in Vancouver, Sharilyn Amy launched a humanitarian career in 1996 with the Canadian Red Cross in Calgary. Her role quickly expanded to an international career in disaster response communications that saw her work in the slums of Bangladesh, the flooded regions of China, and Geneva, Switzerland where she managed communications operations globally. Humanitarian work forever changed her views on our personal social responsibility. Returning to Canada to raise her family, Sharilyn worked nationally to help expand a child abuse prevention and anti-bullying program. She then established Go-To Group in 2002, a consultancy that focused on social enterprise and innovation in the non-profit and non-government sectors. In 2008 she completed her MBA and expanded her client base and the number of other consultants working with her. After 12 years of making an impact in the Calgary and Canadian NGO landscape, Sharilyn transitioned with her two children to Argentina. There she established a community economic development tourism project benefiting subsistence goat farming families in the Andes Mountains. Not long after, she developed and now runs an award-winning eco-hotel, Océano Patagonia, in the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage site and biosphere reserve.

Sarah Leamon is a criminal defence lawyer and founder of Sarah Leamon Law Group. Sarah specializes in criminal and cannabis law. In 2017, Sarah was invited to appear before the House of Commons Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights to discuss the legal implications of Bill C-46. Sarah has been sought out for her legal insights by both the House of Commons and the Senate on multiple occasions since then.   Sarah regularly writes for The Georgia Straight, The Huffington Post, The Her(b) Life and The Cannabis Life Network. She is also involved in numerous non-profit organizations, including PACE Society where she acts as Board Chair, The Coven Club and The Women’s Association of Criminal Lawyers – British Columbia. In 2018, Sarah was nominated in Canadian Lawyer Magazine’s 25 Most Influential Lawyers list and won Business in Vancouver’s 2018 Forty Under 40 award.

Born in Jakarta, Indonesia, Nathali has been an influential leader in the progression and support for women throughout the world. A proud mother of 14-year-old daughter Bhavna Jaya, she gained the inspiration to create a world where women are celebrated and encouraged to chase their dreams. Through her own hardship, Nathali was able to become a successful businesswoman whilst travelling the world learning 4 different languages. Skilled in fashion design, hair styling, markup artistry, acupuncture and hypnotherapy she has received a number of accolades to include Best Business Beauty Salon by Fans Choice Awards in May 2018, Nominated as Lash Artist Integrity and Customer Awards by NALA (National Association Lash Artists) in 2019 and the Top Beauty Salon in Calgary by Choice Awards in 2019.

Her passion is to pass on her knowledge and frequently conducts workshops to teach young women her craft and inspire them to explore the world. Nathali believes that culture and community play an important role in developing women as it provides a support network for growth. Part of her journey saw her become the Vice President of a not-for-profit organization, Budaya Nusantara, which promotes the preservation of heritage and culture through community outreach programs. By utilizing her skills she can provide community events to include fashion runways, dancing classes, musicals, and various other classes. By sharing her story she becomes an inspiration for others to overcome hardship and focus on qualities like resilience, integrity, and confidence.
