  • #MRWomenToday Mark Kermode and Linda Ruth Williams
As part of the Women Today At The Movies series, to celebrate Manx Radio's media partnership with the Isle of Man Film Festival, we heard a wonderful 'kitchen conversation' between Festival patron Mark Kermode and his wife Linda Ruth Williams, both of whom also curate Shetland's Screenplay Festival. Listen now to the full conversation, as they chat openly about the positives of small, Island festivals and their filmmaking communities, about how and why they got involved with both events, and argue about kippers...

  • #MRWomenToday: the good ship Chris Williams!
As part of our "When Pirates Waved the Rules" series of special programmes bringing you the Radio Caroline story, Christy caught up with Chris Williams on board HMS Ross Revenge following his live breakfast show broadcast, on the day marking 50 years since the Marine Broadcasting Offences Act was introduced to stop pirate radio. Although Radio Caroline was the Act's main target, she carried on broadcasting and still does to this day. (*NB: the signal was beginning to falter a little, so please excuse the occasional dropouts!) #MRCaroline

  • #MRWomenToday Conister Rocks: Hector Duff

  • #MRWomenToday Fiona Hill-Heaton on crossing the Atlantic
'There were teethmarks on the propeller and we don't know what did it...' not what you want to see when you drag your metal generator out of the water from behind your 38ft yacht when sailing across the Atlantic! Fiona was our guest on 20th July 2017 and told us fascinating, jaw dropping tales of her and her now fiancé Terry's incredible adventures on the ocean wave. We couldn't fit everything in... so here is an exclusive post-show chat about the music, the wildlife and the comets that accompanied them on their journey.

  • Beth's brilliant bloopers...
When Beth first started on Manx Radio she worked in the news room. Because she's a very serious, don'tya know... As part of her time in the newsroom she spent a spell working alongside Stu Peters and the two presented Mandate together. Problem being, they had a tendency of making each other laugh. At the most 'appropriate' moments...

  • #MRWomenToday
On Tuesday 27th June we were joined by the wonderful Eloise White, whose exhibition 'A Happy Medium' deals very powerfully with her own personal struggles with mental health. Animator and artist in residence at the Sayle Gallery since August 2016, Eloise stayed behind after the programme to talk - among other things - about the inspiration she received from fellow local artist Simon Buttimore, who she sadly didn't meet before he passed away, but who has nevertheless brought her encouragement and continued passion for her work. You can see Eloise's exhibition, including her residency project, the short film 'A Happy Medium, at the gallery from now until 23rd July. You can also find Eloise online at www.elothereblog.wordpress.com and www.vimeo.com/elokj
