November 17, 2017The Horse Show: S1E16 - Catherine Haddad-StallerCatherine Haddad-Staller rode Rowan Riley’s 11 year old mare Semper Fidelis to claim their first CDI3* Grand Prix Special win together in Europe this summer. This break out performance for the mare in Le Man, France came just a month after the partnership made their Big Tour debut and Catherine is excited about the horse's future. Catherine was previously based in Germany but now resides in Califon, New Jersey in the summer and Loxahatchee, Florida for the winter season. She has been sponsored by Rowan O’Riley for just over two years but only started riding Semper Fidelis (Sir Donnerhall x Welt Hit II) last year. Chris caught up with Catherine to learn more about this partnership and hear about the rest of her training program. The purpose is to educate and help people so that they have better understanding and the tools to cope with a variety of situations to enable them to stay mentallyfit. Kendra was diagnosed with a Severe Anxiety Disorder, Severe Panic Attacks, Depression and Agoraphobia at a critical time in her career and was forced to leave the sport's national program and put her health first. She has since established a website as a community and resource and spends time carrying out motivational speaking engagements and assisting organizations. On this first episode Kendra addresses the anxieties that manifest during the holiday season - how to better prepare and cope.
