In this last episode of Season 2, we talk through sheltering our kids. Everything from movies to phones, it's murky water for us parents. But, there are some helpful questions to ask and frameworks to have when trying to decide what to allow our kids to do and see.
Should we be striving for diverse churches? What is a, "culture of whiteness?" We had a lot of questions for pastor Will Gant in this episode. Talking about race and church isn't easy, but it IS necessary.
Will walks us through his experience as a black pastor in various church settings. He gives really helpful insights for those of us in the dominant culture in regards to worshipping together.
Author, Dorothy Greco, joins us for a discussion about marriage in midlife. Her book, Marriage in the Middle, is a helpful blueprint in our discussion. We talk everything from expectations to our sex lives.
Regardless of where you're at in marriage or singleness, Dorothy sets a helpful table as we look at relationships.
In this (early release!) episode, Carrie and Jamie have questions about Lent. Lent begins this week on Ash Wednesday and continues for 40 days (not including Sundays.) Whether you observe Lent, avoid Lent, or have no idea what Lent even is, we think this conversation is worth your time just for Anne's insight and wisdom on the Christian life in general.
If you enjoyed this discussion with Anne, you can check out her podcast and also her blog, where she writes daily about life, culture, and why you should #gotochurch. Her book, Nailed It: 365 Readings for Angry or Worn-Out People is now available!

In the first episode of season 2, Carrie and Jamie talk with Rachel Joy Welcher, author of Talking Back to Purity Culture and most definitely a woman with questions. They ask questions about the ramifications of "True Love Waits" the purity movement of the 90's and what it means for those of us dealing with the aftermath of some very questionable teachings. They also discuss what it looks like to move forward and make sure that all that is true about sex, marriage and family is upheld and defended unapologetically. Thanks for joining us for this discussion with Rachel. You can find out more about her and her other projects on her website

In today's episode, Carrie and Jamie ask questions about the idea of "efficiency." Our culture seems to place a high value on making things run as smoothly, quickly, and with as least interference as possible, but is that always a good thing? When everything is viewed as a process to be streamlined, do we lose something worth more than the time we save? Can pushing back against our desire to make everything more efficient actually enhance out lives? They consider these questions and more as they seek to understand if there might be a better way. Would pursuing a "glorious inefficiency" in some areas cultivate more of what we truly long for? Thank you for joining us for this conversation!

In today's episode, Carrie and Jamie discuss questions they have about feminism--or at least they begin a conversation about this complex and fascinating topic. As it turns out, in order to talk about feminism, or really ANY ideology, you have to walk the conversation back several steps and attempt to uncover the principles that the ideas hang on. With the help of our guest, writer and teacher Steven Rummelsburg, we attempt to do just that. Even though this episode runs longer than usual, there is still so much more to be said about feminism and how Christian women should think about it, from both a theological and philosophical standpoint. But we hope this conversation provides a helpful framework by which to process the many questions that we are left to wrestle with. As we say in the description of our show, "We won't have all the answers and we won't always agree, but we do believe a better life is found by asking better questions!" Thank you for listening!
