Are you bogged down by people telling you to just “obey” God? Are you constantly feeling like God is always mad at you when you mess up? Have you ever wondered “why” we should do what God asks of us? Many times our religious upbringing and the things we were taught when we were younger affects how we feel about “obeying” God. Join us today as we go back to the beginning and see why God wants us to do what He asks and hopefully we will feel FREE, possibly, for the first time!
We live in a world where technology can be an asset to our faith. But...are we using the tools available on the web to further our Biblical knowledge? What did the early disciples do in order to learn what Jesus had to say? And if we say we are a disciple -- a genuine follower of Jesus -- is studying His Word an important piece to growing in our faith? Join us as we see what the original disciples did to grow up in their faith and see what we can learn from them!
Join us today as we talk about Judas and we will answer the questions: “What if someone walks away from their faith, are they still considered ‘Christians’?” and “Does God “showing up” in miraculous ways grow our faith?” We will delve into the reason why many people walk away from Jesus which could be their disappointment in His silence or their disillusionment in His lack of answering their prayers the way they think He should.
Today we will look at the life of John – one of the disciples who followed Jesus to the end. John shows us what our lives should look like after years of following Jesus. We will see how John handles his brother James’ murder. John himself was boiled in oil and sent to an island for preaching. And yet for all the bad circumstances in his life – we see him worshipping. How is that possible? Join us as we learn from this man who saw such tragedy and yet his faith never faltered…
Today we will see why becoming a follower of Jesus will always produce change in our lives. As we study the disciples, we begin to recognize that when a person comes to Christ – change is inevitable! Join us as we illustrate from a chocolate chip cookie why our lives will be transformed as we embark on the journey of following Him!
Today we will talk about Jesus and how He knew what his mission was at 12 years old. For most of us, our mission in life is to make ourselves happy but the mission of Jesus is making sure people come to know Him. Because of the religious activity of the day - the Temple became a place of idolatry rather than worship so today we will see that Jesus came to abolish religion.
Today we will interview Micah Laizure as he explains how religion almost ruined his life. Micah had to learn what the Bible said versus what religious people were telling him. Do you ever feel you are not good enough for God? Do you have a true or false view of what being a Christian really means? Do you feel guilty all the time? Do you feel judged? Join us as we interview Micah who learned to move past religion to a relationship with Jesus that brought him freedom.
Today we will meet Simeon and Anna - two people who had waited year after year in the Temple to see Jesus the long awaited, prophesied Messiah. We will talk about what it means to wait on God and His timing. Sometimes God asks of us very difficult things and yet we will see that Mary and Joseph continued to push through even though they didn't understand the whole picture.
Today we will see the long awaited birth of the Messiah as Mary and Joseph take a difficult trip to Bethlehem. We will see how God uses the government to fulfill prophecy - moving Mary and Joseph from Nazareth to Bethlehem because that is where Micah in the Old Testament prophesied that Jesus would be born. What we will see is that the Angels do not announce Jesus' birth to the religious men in the temple or the busy people in the town. Instead they show up to lowly Shepherds in the fields where it is quiet and peaceful. These Shepherds- outcasts in society, outcasts in the religious Temple - are the men that God wants to unveil His Son to which is a reminder to us the importance of being quiet long enough to hear what God has to say!
Today Jesus continues preaching and teaching and will come in contact with a leper. And what does He do? Runs TO him - not away from him. We will see 2000 years later that screaming "leper" is something we still do today to those like the homeless, addicts, and people we feel are nothing like us...
