It's a busy week in the world of politics. @chadsmart and Brandon (@MrPartisan) Cooley try to make sense of events surrounding the Road to the White House 2020. Starting with the Iowa caucus, they discuss why the results are taking days to be finalized and wonder if the DNC is attempting to shut Bernie Sanders out like they did in 2016.

From there, Chad tries to convince everyone the State of the Union speech is a waste of time. The show ends with a quick wrap up on impeachment and why the Libertarian party can't find a serious candidate.

In the lead up to the 2020 Academy Awards, @chadsmart and Eric Bennett offer up their choices for movies they think should have won the Academy Award instead of the movie the AMPAS selected. Along they way, they discuss what they agree is the pick for worst Best Picture.

In the first revamped, shorter Politicalamity, @chadsmart and Brandon "@MrPartisan" Cooley take a look a the Democratic Presidential candidates in the lead up to the Iowa caucus.  From the fallout in the last debate to conspiracy theories surrounding the timing of the impeachment hearings, lots to discuss in 30 minutes.  Chad also throws in a pointless story about Smokey and the Bandit to start the show.

With Awards season upon us,  Popology 101 starts a series examining different aspects of the awards and award winning films. @chadsmart and @TheTravisYates start the session examining why critical acclaim and popular opinion of Best Pictures films has widen over the last forty years.  In the '80s, six of the Best Picture winners finished in the Top 10 box office gross for the year while the lowest finished 25th. In the 2010's, the highest a Best Picture winner finished was 18th and the lowest was 92nd.

There are several tropes that a lot of Best Picture films seem to include. Travis gives us the results of a German study to help you figure out what movies this year should take home the Oscar. 

It's a new year! @chadsmart and Eric Bennett are sky walking into the new decade by discussing a franchise that has been a force in their lives for over forty years. Starting with their thoughts on "Rise of Skywalker" and moving on to the Sequel Trilogy as a whole then onto the Star Wars saga, Chad and Eric touch base on all things Star Wars.

The talk moves into discussing if fans just want to find things to complain about and if people are losing the ability to just enjoy a movie. The show concludes with a shocking admission from Chad.  *Spoilers throughout episode*

As 2019 draws to a close, so does the Popology 101 breakdown of the evolution of Mtv. On the final episode @chadsmart and @TheTravisYates pick up the discussion of the '90s with conversation about The Real World and the popularity of Jackass.  Once the '90s were over, Mtv switched to more reality based programming and less emphasis on music. It was also around this time that Chad and Travis realized they had aged out of the Mtv demographic. No longer on the cutting edge of cool, instead of tuning in to Jersey Shore and Teen Mom, Chad and Travis keep trying to relive the Glory Days. 

Just before Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker hits theaters, @chadsmart and Eric Bennett sat down to discuss a hot topic at the moment in the world of pop culture; TV and Film run times.  From fans complaining the Mandalorian is too short to people (including Chad) who thinks the Irishman is too long, Chad and Eric try to determine if there's an ideal sweet spot for the perfect length of media. 

Pouring over data that shows run times have gotten longer in the last decade as well as the tendency on the Academy to award movies over two hours with the Best Picture Oscar, is there a solid reasoning behind quantity over perceived quality?

Another week, another blah, blah blah. Politics seem to be a never ending repeating cycle of one-sided political discourse in the media. The anti-Trump supporters are cheering for impeachment. The Trump supporters think impeachment is a joke. No minds will be changed. Across the pond, England voted for what some call the British Trump over the British Bernie. What does this mean?

@chadsmart and Brandon (@MrPartisan) Cooley say enough is enough and bring the current version of Politicalmity to an end. What does the future have in store for the show? We'll find out after the new year.
