This week, Alice wishes to tell people why they should read Martha Waters, an author who debuted with her first historical romance in 2020. Waters is one of Alice's auto-buy authors, someone she admires greatly, whose debut novel got her through the UK's first lockdown. In between gushing about how amazing Waters is, she and Anne discuss the books, the characters, their covers, the possible title choices for future books (before realising after recording that Waters' 3rd book title has already been published!) and, as always, there is helpless giggling & some fan-casting for any future film adaptations!

Anne reads very little contemporary (her imagination & heart are always stuck in the 1800s) & is a complete dark romance virgin, so it is up to Alice (who is more adventurous & brilliant with her reading choices) to explain all of the amazing characters in these books, & convince Anne to give the books a try! We discuss men who look after their mothers, alphas being imagined as giants & ask the important question, why do all these men lose their shirts on the covers of these books? (we don't need an answer, we just ponder it sometimes).
