Wondrous Atlas of Creation's Destiny: An Exalted Podcast

The Wondrous Atlas crew look into the Immaculate Order, outlining its precepts, structure and origins, as well as its crusading sister organisation and practice, the Wyld Hunt. There is, of course, the requisite amount of conspiracy theories, which are actually directly relevant this time!

We've also just joined the D20 Radio network! Check out the other podcasts in the Network at https://www.d20radio.com/main/podcasts/

As part of that, we had a chat about Exalted and superhero fantasy on the Me & Steve Talk RPGs podcast. You can listen to that here: https://meandsteverpg.podbean.com/e/123-exalted-w-aramithius-raelz/

Aramithius and Raelz talk over the themes of House V'neef, and what kind of games you can run with them. Essentially, anything you want to make of them, as we realise that they're the "make them your own" Great House, while at the same time allowing PCs to play with Big Name NPCs with impunity. We finish with not one but two storylines being plotted out!

The Wondrous Atlas crew talk over the newest Great House, the motley bunch of outcastes that comprise them, and the daughter of the Empress that leads them. On the way, we cover their character (or lack of it), get embroiled in their plan (or lack of it) for the Scarlet Throne, and have both of us burst into song at one point. Not for long, we promise! Also, new video podcast features are on show, with map zooming!

Aramithius and Raelz discuss what to do with the past-it House that is Great House Tepet. We discuss how to present themes of time moving past the House, where Tepet can find a place in the current Realm, how not to use the Roseblack, and how one of the best archetypes of House Tepet is basically Uncle Iroh from Avatar: The Last Airbender. We also cover a few ideas on games in Lord's Crossing, while basically admitting that it's basically the Home Counties as a prefecture. We finish with a game outline for giving House Tepet a new home and other fun things to do with the folks in Lookshy.

The Wondrous Atlas discuss all of the various schemes and plots and hooks that can come out of House Sesus, from how to think about Great House espionage in general to the school of hard knocks in the Palace of the Tamed Storm, there can be quite an unfortunate series of events going on. Lots of suggestions for how Sesus can be used as antagonists in non-Sesus games as well. It's almost like they were designed that way. We wrap up with an outline for a game trying to contain a jailbreak from the Ice-Above-Water Prison.

Aramithius and Raelz discuss the Great House Sesus, who aren't really so great when you get down to it. There are criminals, blaggards and stooges a-plenty in this House, which is everything from a no-holds-barred military house to some of the most competent spies in the Realm.

Aramithius and Raelz discuss the various story hooks, plots and characters that House Ragara supports. There's lots of talk about crime, collecting debts and dealing with demons, and a dawning realisation that House Ragara might be a really interesting choice of questgiver in a particular type of Celestial Exalts game. We finish with a (possibly vain) attempt to envision what a morally good House Ragara character would look like.

The Wondrous Atlas opens on Great House Ragara, an unusually patriarchal clan of bankers who really don't want to be brought into the light, alongside their home prefecture of Corin. Along the way we discuss heresy, nefarious finacial schemes, incest and attempts to use demons, Anathema and worse to get their way in Creation. We did try to find some redeeming features in there, but there were none to be found.

We discuss that, as a Storyteller, there is nothing half so much worth doing as messing about with House Peleps. We do some naval gazing, discuss how to stage the War in the West as well as using Peleps in some landed games, for a bit of variety. The episode finishes with an outline of a monster hunt game gone horribly wrong, and how to mix naval, social and Malfean games…
