Day 1: Read Matt. 7:24, 26 & James 1:22-25. Discuss these questions: in the past, what are some examples of situations where I did not listen to God’s word? What were the results, or “fruit” of these situations? Consider discussing these situations with your children or close friends. Also use these questions to examine yourself and discuss your findings with a spouse or close friend: In what ways am I tempted to not listen to God’s word? How do I resist these temptations? What aid or assistance do I need in the fight to resist to temptation? Who can help me do this?
Day 2: Read Prov. 7:24-25 & Prov. 4:23. Discuss these questions: in the past, in what ways did my heart “turn aside”? What sins did it lead to? How did I learn to “guard my heart”? What aided me in guarding my heart? How can I assist others (my spouse, children, parents, friends, etc.) in guarding their hearts?
Day 3: Read 2 Sam. 12:1-13 and Exodus 32:1-24. Compare & contrast  David & Aaron, discussing these questions: How were David & Aaron similar? What was similar in each situation? How were they different? What was different about their reactions to being rebuked? How did God respond to their reactions?
