Family Worship Guide
Memory Verses: Psalm 79:9
Day 1: Read 2 Pet. 2: 4-8 and discuss: Why is the word “lawless” in verse 8, significant? What have these people not been given yet? Discuss with your family or friends how this verse could be used in evangelistic encounters to describe the truth that God’s moral law is written on the hearts of all mankind. What other passages could be used in such an encounter?
Day 2: Read 1 Samuel 15:1-6 and: Look for God’s mercy and judgment in these verses. Discuss: Why were the Kenites shown mercy? Why were the Amalekites judged?
Day 3: Read Gen. 19:29, 1 Tim. 2:5, and 1 John 2:1 and discuss: Why was Lot sent out/rescued from Sodom? In what way is Abraham a type of Christ in the story of God’s judgment on Sodom & Gomorrah? Use this example to explain how Christ is the mediator for man (for those who would have faith in him).
