Fishers of men proclaim the good news (vs.14; Matthew 4:23).  He taught, he preached and he healed. 2. Fishers of men lead others to believe good news (vs.15).  3. Fishers of men direct others toward a new lifestyle (vs.15).  4. Fishers of men cast their nets (vs.16).  We identify were they are.  We build relationships.  We meet the needs.  We proclaim the good news. We give an opportunity to choose a new life.  5. Fishers of men follow the right example

This is a short sermon from our special Christmas service called, Gloria. GLORIA (Christmas at Woodland) is a special program in lieu of our normal Sunday services at both 9 & 11AM. This program combines a multi-generational choir from within and outside of Woodland, orchestral members from the Sarasota Music Conservatory, WFA dance ensembles, soloists', a small drama team, and various video elements that all point towards celebrating Jesus as our Savior and Lord. We find our hope in what God says (49). We are comforted in suffering and our life is preserved because we remember what God says (50,52). People will ridicule (mock) me for living according to God’s Word instead of the words of people in the world (51). It displeases me when the wicked don’t follow God’s Word (53). God’s Word puts a song in our hearts (54). I need to remember God when things are dark (in the night) and stay true to His Word (55). We need to make it a practice to obey God’s Word. With every decision we face we ask – “What does God say?” (56). I need to be full of God (57). We seek to see him smiling at us in pleasure (his face), and when He is displeased, we rely on His grace (58). I will quickly obey and not put it off (60). I won’t let any suffering that others bring against me to distract me from what God says to me (61). We want to be friend with those who follow God’s Word (63). We want to be like Him and show His love (64). He showed His love by giving us a Savior. 

I need to learn (teach me) (33). I need to understand (34). I need direction (35). I need live selflessly and not selfishly (36). I need to know what is of value. It makes my life worth living (preserve) (37). We believe that God will make good on what He says (38). My life is about what is doing right (40). We are saved because of God’s unfailing love (41). I can answer the one who taunts me by showing His unfailing love (42). God’s Word gives me hope. I know He will do what He says and what He says is true (43). We are committed to strive to always obey God’s Word (44). I have nothing holding me back and can walk in freedom when I know I am obedient to God’s Word (45). We want to tell others about what God says (speak before Kings) (46). We love what God says to us. We see it as a love letter (47-48).

We need to open our eyes and see that our being alive depends on Him (17). I open my eyes so I can see the wonderful life he has for me described in His Word (18). I see that I am a stranger on this earth (19). Our spirit longs to hear from Him at all times (20). We are arrogant if we think we can live differently from what He says and He rebukes us for it (21-22). We don’t care what others say about us, we care about what God says to us (23). We need God’s counsel and He counsels us through His Word (24). When we are depressed (laid low), we need him to encourage us (preserve) (25,28). I need to measure my life (recount my ways) according to God’s Word (26). I need to understand what He says to me (27). His Word keeps me from being deceived (29). I nee to choose the way of truth (30). I hold on to what God says to make sure I don’t become ashamed (31). I am free (without any burden of wrong) when I run by following His commands (32).

His Word guides our walk (vs.1). He is the one we seek who is at the end of the road (vs.2,10). We follow the precepts that are laid down for us (vs.4). We walk this path consistently (steadfast) (vs.5). We have nothing to be ashamed of (vs.6). Our heart is in the condition to praise Him (vs.7,12). It keeps us pure (vs.9). We keep his word in our heart and remember it to remind us not to sin (vs.11). We want Him to teach us how to live (vs.12). I tell people what God says (vs.13). Following the path gives me joy (rejoice) (vs.14). I think about His Word (meditate) and consider how He wants me to live (vs.15)
