As the new school and church year approaches and we begin to think about stepping out of our apathy and following Christ, we stop to observe the Lord's Supper and to prepare our hearts for the encounters God will bring us. This message looks at Philip's interaction with the Ethiopian Eunuch as a model for both understanding and carrying out the command of making disciples.

Living in the information age has a lot of benefits, but it also comes at a cost. Media and social media when viewed to excess can lead to apathy as we succumb to the phenomena of the "bystander effect" and desensitization. Sometimes you grow apathetic because of ignorance. Not ignorance of facts, but ignorance concerning the person Jesus. Relating to God through works leads to apathy because we either operate from a "minimum requirement met" mentality or find ourselves eventually saying "haven't I done enough." This message looks at how to measure our Passion for God and calls on believers to find the impetus for all they do, not in their performance but in a deep love for their Savior.

Sometimes life is overwhelming. What we believe about God and ourselves in such times can either lead us to victory or helplessness. If it is the latter, that helpless feeling can result in feelings of indifference about it all. This sermon looks at how we ought to view God through the lens of how He is portrayed in Psalm 121. It further addresses the issue of how we understand ourselves and our situations in light of how we understand God.

When do we stand for our freedom and when do abstain from an action?
