Jesus is fully God, yet fully man. This paradoxical reality is at the heart of seemingly competing natures found within Christ. Servant yet Lord, Rule maker yet obedient, Awesome yet humble. Understanding God as with us in the person of Jesus only becomes possible when we stop to consider all that He is and the various truths about His nature as presented by Paul in Philippians 2.

How we respond to Christ changes everything. This message looks at two groups outlined in Matthew 2. Both groups have questionable backgrounds, but how they responded to Christ made all the difference in the world. As we consider our own pasts and failures, we must also consider what we value and how we have responded to Jesus.

Jesus' coming not only had cosmic and corporate consequences, but touched people personally and directly. This message examines the genealogy of Matthew 1 and how those included in it have something significant to teach us about how He meets our deepest needs.

The prophecies of Jesus' coming are more than just predictions about the future, they are promises built around the relationship God has with humanity. This message looks at the nature of prophecy in the Bible in general and the lessons of Isaiah 7. The conclusions center around the idea that prophecy is relational in nature and is meant to highlight God's presence with us and His desire to build trust with His people.

As we enter into the Christmas season, we think about the name Emmanuel – God with Us. But do we consider how spectacularly wonderful that truth is and the implications Scripture suggests are present for us if we accept that truth? This first sermon in the series takes up the subject of Jesus as the pre-existent and eternal God and how that impacts our life today.

We are responsible for the whole of the Covenant, not just the parts we like. As Paul addresses potential questions raised about his statements in chapter 2, he does so through the lens of saying that they will understand his point if they first understand the entirety of the old covenant. This ultimately calls on us to recognize Our Privilege (Access to God),

Our Responsibility (Making Disciples), and Our Hope (Grace winning!) as a holistic approach to understanding our covenant with God.

It's not what you know, it is who you know that matters. This axiom seems to be a major component of Paul's argument in Romans 2. Paul makes the argument that Jewish credentials hold little importance when it comes to the issue of sin and salvation, instead he argues for the need to experience Christ. In this message the issue of us knowing God and submitting to His leadership is the focus.

God's grace has intended purposes and outcomes in its expressions. If those intended purposes are not met, Paul argues that this actually reflects a contempt for grace. This message asks believers to consider their actual disposition toward grace as demonstrated in their attitude toward God and others.

Sermon is built around the concept that how you view God affects everything else you do. In this passage, Paul outlines the ways in which people have "suppressed the truth" by wrongly understanding God, and by consequence, themselves. The sermon seeks to encourage and challenge believers to live by faith - defined here as "Seeing God for who He is and being submissive to it."

All relationships can be difficult, even Christian ones. In his opening comments to the church at Rome, Paul reveals several elements about his relationship with them that communicate what makes a relationship strong. This message examines those elements in connection with our church and family relationships in order to help us grow in that important part of our lives.
