Content of Chapter 3 v1-11 Earning and Effort Safeguarding - protecting the vulnerable. There are Jewish people insisting that non-Jews (Gentiles) must be circumcised in order to be fully Christian. They were putting confidence in the “flesh” rather than just having simple faith in Jesus. Similar to the situation in Galatia (Gal 3), Paul warns them to keep clear of such people and not circum to their teaching. The word “flesh” in the New Testament can mean “sinful, human nature” or it can mean “human endeavour” as apposed to God’s gracious work. Download Discussion notes
