Nigel challenged us in his sermon to ask whether we were cup half full or cup half empty people. The Spirit of Poverty is not about actual poverty but relative poverty, poverty of the heart. We can feel poor in time, energy, faith or money. How does Jesus address these issues in his teaching and lifestyle? Jesus once described himself as having nowhere to lay his head. November 18th 2018. Sustainable: Sustainable Family. (Ephesians 5 -6:9. Matthew 8-22, 15:3-7).

Family is an issue for all of us, whether family life is great, challenging, or largely absent from our current experience. The bible has a lot to say about families, healthy family life is seen as foundational to the health of wider society. The story of Israel is the story of families. God wants family to be a place where children can be safe to grow into all He has planned for them. In reality family life is often difficult and painful and the bible illustrates this all too starkly in the stories it tells. Download Discussion notes
