Jesus used discernment. He responded instead of reacting. He saw the ulterior and ultimate motive. Satan was trying to entice jesus to use his power and identity to pursue things that were not of his father. He was offering shortcuts!!!

Evil attempts to distort the good desires god has placed within us. We must learn to recognize this! Freedom doesn’t come with willpower … but with wisdom that can discern the truth. Identify and name what’s behind it!!! Be specific!!!

FORGIVENESS can be a ONE-WAY STREET: you can forgive someone who has NO REMORSE, thinks they’re TOTALLY INNOCENT, or even SOMEONE DEAD.

FORGIVENESS doesn’t mean there are NO CONSEQUENCES. There can be JUSTICE UNDER THE RULE OF LAW. It DOESN’T TURN A BLIND EYE to LEGAL, FINANCIAL, or RELATIONAL WRONGDOING. It can still REQUIRE RESTITUTION.

GENUINE FORGIVENESS helps us to ACCEPT CERTAIN LOSSES and MOVE ON TOWARDS A LIFE OF FREEDOM. This all becomes part of our HUMAN STORY.

Give me the grace I need for this day and tomorrow, because I trust you and the daily bread that you give me. In this moment, you are with me, and that is enough! Because HE is enough!
