Oct 10th, 2021, Twenty-eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time. Jesus is crystal clear: To receive, you must let go! We are so attached to our little! Let it go! Let God give you His Wisdom, what He’s got for you! (Wis 7:7-11; Ps 90; Heb 4:12-13; Mk 10:17-30)

Oct 7th, 2021, Our Lady of the Rosary. When we decide to have a life of prayer, we come to have a Pascal perspective on reality: Cross and Resurrection, Announcement and Fulfillment, all this, intertwined, interconnected. A persistent prayer strengthens our Faith and makes room for God to pour His Spirit into us. “Ask and you will receive… knock and the door will be opened to you.” (Mal 3:13-20b; Ps 1; Lk 11:5-13)

Oct 4th, 2021, St Francis of Assisi. When we live off of Christ’s Life, what is bitter becomes sweet; our wounds become a shortcut to Glory. Our Lord leaves the heights of the Holy City to chase us down in our low “Jerichos”… He pours oil and wine over our wounds and restores our dignity. “Go and do likewise!” St Francis said “yes” to God’s Voice and was His instrument to “rebuild the Church”. (Jonah 1:1-2:2,11; Lk 10:25-37)

Sep 29th, 2021, Feast of Saints Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Archangels. These heavenly beings are a sort of “personification” of the divine message that God is constantly fighting for us, for our salvation. These “traveling companions” invite us to remain in dialogue with God, who always wants to talk to us. (Rv 12:7-12ab; Ps 138; Jn 1:47-51)

Sep 28th, 2021. “When the Lord’s eyes are upon us He sanctifies us, as the sun warms everything upon which it shines.” (St Gregory Palamas) “He is God dwelling in us, the holiness of our heart… which is always wonderfully there.” (K. Rahner) Let us resolutely journey along with Jesus from the Earthly Jerusalem to the Jerusalem of Heaven! (Zechariah 8:20-23; Ps 87; Lk 9:51-56)

Sep 27th, 2021. The prophecy of Zechariah and today’s Gospel invite us to be like children who “daydream” and allow themselves to be drawn to God and His promises, without fear. (Zechariah 8:1-8; Ps 102; Lk 9:46-50)

Sep 26th, 2021, Twenty-Sixth Sunday of Ordinary Time. “How I wish all the people were filled with the Spirit and could prophesy!” (Nm 11:25-29; Ps 19; Jas 5:1-6; Mk 9:38-43,45,47-48)

Sep 22nd, 2021. The prayer of ‘supplication’ makes room for God in our lives. The priest Ezra falls on his knees and, in the face of his outcry, God manifests His saving power. “So now consider what He has done for you, and praise Him with full voice.”

The love we receive becomes love we share. We are sent to go “from village to village proclaiming the good news and curing diseases everywhere”, so that the disharmony of the world can be re-synchronized with the heartbeat of Divine Love. (Ezra 9:5-9; Tb 13; Lk 9:1-6)

Sep 21st, 2021, Feast of St. Matthew, the Apostle. “Once one has experienced the taste of God, one can never be satisfied or have enough of it, but however much one is enriched by this wealth, one still feels oneself to be poor.” (St. Makarios of Egypt) St. Bede, the Venerable, says that Jesus saw Matthew through the eyes of mercy and chose him. Matthew starts to feed on the life of Christ and, therefore, he passes it on. (Eph 4:1-7,11-13; Mt 9:9-13)

Sep 20th, 2021. God’s Providence penetrates the most unlikely situations to manifest His fidelity in our lives. Whatever the cost, God wants to reestablish His Holy Temple, His Holy Presence both in Jerusalem and in the center of our hearts. With the Psalmist we can sing: “The Lord has done marvels for us”. He’s been opening His Infinite Interiority, the ‘treasure chest’ of His Divine Heart, to surprise us with new beauties and gifts. (
