Even the fallen angels believe in God. They know Him and decided not to continue to pursue Him. They live in fear of Him. They do not have a relationship with Him. In the same way, people who do not know God are fearful of Him as well. As you spend time with Him, you will begin to see Him as He really is. We cannot formulate our own picture of who God is. We must rely on the information He has given us through the Scriptures and His creation.

Jesus did not want us to face the trouble of this world without hope. That is why He told us that He overcame the world. Today, we are going to learn more about our hope in Christ! Hope means more than a vague desire that something will come to pass. It is a sure and confident expectation in God's future faithfulness and presence in our lives.

All things are possible with God. It is our unbelief that holds us back. God can accomplish anything. We serve a God who is alive and risen. It is not about what He does; it is about who He is. He is the resurrection and the life. Dead things don't stay dead when the Resurrection walks into the room. Lazarus walked out of the tomb alive. Jesus walked out of the tomb after His physical death on the cross. He came out never to die again. One day, we will leave the tomb changed for all eternity, never to die again. Jesus was the perfect sacrifice for the sins of the world.

Most spiritual people feel comfortable talking about God and a higher being. But it becomes controversial when you bring up the name of Jesus. Why is that? What is it about the name of Jesus that gets people so uptight?

Jesus set a beautiful example of forgiving those who crucified Him undeservingly. Jesus is not the only one who should be a forgiver. Jesus expects us to be forgivers as well. We want forgiveness when we hurt other people, and we must be prepared to forgive those who wrong us too.

Sometimes we draw lines in the sand about what we are willing to do. But God wants us to be willing to do things that we may not want to do. We have been called to be servants. Whenever we see a need that we can meet, we need to ask if God has just assigned us a task.

Serving is not just what I do. A servant is who I am. Jesus did not need to be a servant to anyone, but He had the attitude of a servant.

God has a plan for each Christian. We are born into a family known as the Body of Christ. We all have work to accomplish as a member of God's family. Through difficulties and trials, we will accomplish this work. God will give us joy and peace to overcome the world.

In Jesus day, meals were an event that could last for hours or days. The purpose of a meal was to have deep fellowship with one another. People felt that there was a divine nature to meals.
