Many people don’t know or remember how the Reformation began. It’s both sad and pity because it is one of the most important events that has happened in the church and has influenced the course of history for the last 500 years.

The year was 1517. On October 31st an obscure monk who was the chair of theology at the University of Wittenberg, wanted to start a discussion about the teaching of the Roman Catholic church. He was concerned about the sale of indulgences, so he nailed 95 theses (statements) to the door of a church. This was the spark that ignited the Reformation.

This series explores the Solas of the Reformation. Sola is Latin for “alone.” The Solas are: Scripture Alone, Faith Alone, Grace Alone, Christ Alone, to God be the Glory Alone.

These five Solas are at the heart of the Reformation and they are at the heart of what it means to be a Lutheran and, we believe, a Christian.

You were designed for relationships from the very beginning. Relationships can bring you great joy and comfort. Relationships can help you grow and develop. They can also be very challenging and difficult and sometimes bring you to brink of despair. Sometimes this happens all in the same day or even the same hour.

In this final message of "What is Church" we continue learning what it means to be a disciple and disciple-maker. We learn what it means to be an ambassador for Christ.
