I have lived through many health scares and God has brought me through all of them unscathed. My mother and my brother’s little 5-year-old boy both died from brain tumors. I began having intense headaches and two of my fingers went numb and I sought medical attention for it. After numerous tests including a CAT scan and MRI, I was diagnosed with having a malignant brain tumor and cancer much like my mother’s that was deemed to be inoperable. She is married to a retired congressman who was as powerful as they come in his heyday. She is very influential in Washington D.C. and knows “everybody” in the highest of political circles from Presidents on down. She is a Godly woman who joined our prayer team when I first founded the Jesus Alliance. A friend of mine and I were talking yesterday. He has been diagnosed with leukemia and the doctors want him to have a bone marrow transplant. After hearing about the side effects, he has pretty much decided to take his chances with prayer and a natural holistic approach of treating it. He does not want his body ravaged by the poison of chemo. Yesterday he sent me a video of a 93-year-old pastor friend praying for him and laying hands on him. When I lived at Honey Lake plantation it once was invaded by thousands and thousands of crows and it was a strange phenomenon that I’ve never experienced before or since. We’ve always had our share of these raucous birds that seem to derive untold amounts of pleasure in banding together and chasing hawks and owls from one end of the plantation to the other. But this was different; there were literally thousands of them, and they all seemed to be talking at once as they circled back and forth – back and forth. I read an interesting piece concerning a man inside the Mall of America last week who was ordered by security guards to remove his T-shirt that read “Jesus is the only way”.
