Many readers will recall that I have endured excruciating pain in my lower back combined with sciatic nerve pain down my leg for several years (that was especially bad when I drove). I had numerous MRIs and other tests and was told I needed to have surgery to remove the discs and fuse L1, L2, and L3 vertebrae together. I had similar surgery in my neck whereby they fused five vertebrae together C2-T1. Yesterday I spent the day putting out trail cameras. These cameras take pictures when motion is detected and are perfect for surveying the deer population. You put them in key places where it is evident that deer are frequenting and pour a pile of corn on the ground and when they come to eat it the camera takes photos of them. Many years ago, a friend asked if he could leave his motorcycle at my house for a few weeks until he got moved. My friend Al Cuneo has encouraged me to write my own obituary. I thought this to be a rather ghoulish request, but he maintains that he does not want to write it. I told him he might have to wait a while because I was just like bad grass and hard to kill. I’ve had more close calls with death than any cat with its paltry nine lives I tell you.
