Troubling bad news was received this weekend. I cannot think of anything worse. Belief in God among U.S. adults sank to an all-time low this year, according to recent data from a Gallup survey most U.S. adults — 81 percent — believe in God. But while that figure seems high, it is actually the lowest percentage ever reported in this survey. I remember a few years back when an Olympic athlete from the United States accomplished the “impossible”. Susan and Sam had two sons a couple of years after their marriage and decided that was enough kids for them. Fifteen years went by, and Susan became decidedly pregnant. I have been visiting my two sons and grandkids in Atlanta over the past several days. It has been refreshing being around my grandchildren especially. They are so full of energy and have more fun than a barrel of monkeys. My youngest grandson is exceptionally smart as are all of them. Although just 12 years old he has never made below an A and can solve the Rubiks Cube in less than two minutes. I am now studying the New Testament and of course, started with reading the book of Matthew. My Bible study partner seems to sometimes focus on the various stories in the Bible in more of a human sense and in so doing I believe will often miss the true spiritual message behind it.
