Is Jesus really sinless — and why does it matter for you today? In this episode of Words From The Word, Pastor Roderick Webster of Good News Baptist Church in Sint Maarten opens 1 Peter 2:22 and 2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV) to show us that Jesus Christ is not just our suffering shepherd — He is our sinless shepherd.
You might be asking: How could one person never sin? Did Jesus really face real temptation? Why does His sinlessness matter to someone like me? And what does it mean that He became sin for us?
In this devotion, Pastor Roderick Webster walks us through the evidence:
- Jesus was born holy — Luke 1:35 tells us that holy thing born of Mary was the Son of God
- He lived a sinless life among sinful people and challenged anyone to prove otherwise — John 8:46
- Satan tried to tempt Him with the kingdoms of the world and failed — Matthew 4:8-10
- Pilate himself declared, "I find no fault in him" — John 19:6
- God made Him who knew no sin to become sin for us, so we could receive His righteousness — 2 Corinthians 5:21
This is the great exchange — His sinlessness given to us, our sin placed on Him. If He is not your Savior yet, today is the day to receive Him.
