This week, we continue our study with the book of Esther. The story of Esther is unique in a lot of ways, and very similar in others. The book itself is written much more as a narrative story rather than a historical record. The name of God is never mentioned specifically. It's an amazing story about faith, providence, and seizing the opportunities that present themselves to us.

This week's "weekly bible study" is part 1 of a multi-episode study devoted to the book of Esther. The story of Esther takes place near the end of the timeline of the Old Testament. It's a beautiful, inspiring story about a young Jewish girl born and raised in Persia rising up and becoming Queen. Through some political twists and turns, she finds herself in a unique position of being able to take a chance that could prove either fatal, or heroic. Stay tuned as we explore and discover all that Esther has to teach us.

Hey Everyone! As promised, here is a full read through of the book of Esther. Please listen along and have your bibles open so that you can read the whole book with me. We will be studying this book beginning tomorrow.

In this weeks bible study we finish up the book of Philemon and unveil the next book we will study for next week.

In our bible study this week, we continued our discussion beginning in Colossians chapter 4 vs 2 through the end. In this section, Paul gives some final encouragements, instructions and then greetings from himself and others with him. Paul mentions a man named Onesimus who happens to be an important character in the next letter we will discuss, the letter to Philemon.

Philemon was a wealthy Roman citizen of Colossae who we learn has a church meeting at his home. He also has bondservants one of which is/was Onesimus… Paul is entreating on behalf of Onesimus for Philemon to take him back, but not as a bondservant, but as a brother…

This week's bible study comes again from the book of Colossians chapter 3 vs 17 through chapter 4 vs 1. In this section the Apostle Paul builds on the foundation he's established with the statement in vs 17 "Whatever you do in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus..." With this in mind, Paul gives us instructions on how to be as Christ-like as possible in the varying roles we find ourselves. Wives, Husbands, Fathers, Children, Masters, Servants etc.

In this section of the letter, the Apostle Paul provides a contrasting list of attributes, deeds, attitudes and other things that we are to "Put to death" or "Put away". Contrasted with another list of what to "Put On". The Old man vs the New man.
