This episode of our "Weekly Bible Study" comes from the book of Hebrews chapter 5 & 6. At the end of chapter 5, the author feels the need to pause the discussion about Christ as our High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek and offer a rebuke to his audience. He points out that many of them were still eating the "milk" of the word, and should have grown to be eating the "meat". In other words, they were remaining at the same level of maturity as when they heard the gospel the first time. By now, they should have been teachers, yet they still needed to be taught the basics. He continues with this rebuke and gives them a warning that if they continue to stagnate they will be at risk to wither and turn away from Christ.
